Can one assume that the rates for the current variable rate tariff which is dated till 30th April still apply? Or knowing BG just haven’t been updated yet. I submitted my last reading at 23.30 on the 31st via their online form which seemed to upload. But as yet no changes to my meter readings on their site.

For electricity.  According to my email from BG, my price promise April 2022 will end on the 30th April.   The cheapest from BG I will get is their SVT, payment by DD.  I'd be the first to carp on about BG - but I have to say their estimate for my usage is spot on.

  • I've been trying to get through to British Gas but to no avail. It's frustrating and worrying having that after they've said a bill must be paid within 14 days.

Just looked on British Gas app and looks wrong ! 2nd bill I've had from them so this bill should be from 10th Dec 2021 which is what they have charged me for gas but electric is charged from 30th Sept again !

Do I pay then dispute bill or refuse to pay until they clarify what they have done ?

No mention of £224 credit from pfp or £175 I paid last bill (total £399) but note saying last balance was in credit £338

ahhh... I'd posted too soon.  This morning I received a cheque from BG.  No idea what this relates to.

I've lost the plot completely here - perhaps if PfP, (or the administrators - whatever), could issue a  final, FINAL bill - and if BG could pick up from then, apply the appropriate time relevant tariffs, that would be fabulous.  I've made it as simple as I can by providing readings spot on the takeover dates and monthly since then.

Clearly though I'm expecting too much.

Hi - Question to those here and MoneySavings Expert staff if they monitor. I received my final Statement from Peoplesenergy back on the 2nd February with a Credit balance of £519.13. i am still waiting for British Gas to apply the credit to my account. also the smart meter unit displayed is wrong (it shows the higher rate for cheque paying customers even though i am on DD). Lastly, the British Gas online / app usage system has been offline since February so i cant track my usage and £ spent.... i cant get through to British Gas and every time i work down through the Chat queue i get dropped out before i can interact with an agent and certainly can not get through by phone at all. Question, is this what other ex-peoplesenergy customers are experiencing ? should i be worried British Gas have mucked up my account transfer?

From reports on the forum, lots of BG customers have those problems with the app / website / smart meter; it's not just you!

same here.. letter from BG saying I owe 43.16 but for Neon Reef. Customer no on letter wasn't mine. I was with NR but transferred to PfP and then BG took over. The 43.16 was correct but was paid off to NR.
Went on to chat, they said ignore the letter. Also, got them to raise a correct bill to date which they did and was spot on with readings and credit that got sent over from PfP.
