  • Hi,
well took the plunge, with BG, on a fix, for better or worse.
On the SOLR cap just now,
    gas: 4.01p - 26.123p
    elec: 20.39p - 24.867p
    Exclusive Fix June 23
    gas: 3.792p - 14.256p
    elec: 18.764 - 20.279p
    prices include vat.
So, cheaper than cap just now, and covered for next winter.

Are BG going to honour switching to these tariffs via CS agent that are much better than current price cap and soon going to be half what the price cap will be come April.
    Hi,
got new contract from BG through yesterday at the above prices, happy with that, especially compared to the new cap prices.

I've had an email yesterday saying not to worry about the new cap because I'm fixed. So I am assuming they will honour it.
  • I requested change to Exclusive Fix June 23. Supposedly, it will happen on 07/02. That should save me some serious money.

Also setup direct debit for gas online and via chat for electricity.

Starting to wish I hadn't jumped ship to Octopus in November seeing everyone geting onto legacy BG tariffs!

Is it a glitch on their side that allows these tariffs that are no longer available to be accessible? Do you use web chat or phone. Bet it will won't work with me! Also wonder if they will cancel it later on once their error is realised by them!

I tried the web chat option to change my tariff today, but they would only give me the instructions for switching online (which only gives me 2 expensive December 2023 fixed tariffs) and said those were the only options available. It was a long wait for an operative to become available too!

Yep you have to keep trying until you don’t fail
  • Hi,
I used web chat, last week, before new rates were announced, asked for a specific deal, rather than agent saying you can only have this/that, he sorted it all out, have now received new contract, so fixed until June 23.
    Exclusive Fix June 23
    gas: 3.792p - 14.256p
    elec: 18.764p - 20.279p
    prices include vat.
Cheaper than cap just now, (ex PfP SOLR rate) and covered for next winter.

I'm on chat again, because my tariff wasn't changed on 7th. It's like talking to wall and getting nowhere. "Yes, your tariff will be changed". Than today I request the same and say it was supposed to happen yesterday, and they quote my current tariff rates or tell me when my current tariff ends.

I was told it was change and will be update on my account. Will have to check tomorrow.

This is exactly what I’ve said before.
”yes you tarriff will be changed” means they will request it. That’s not a guarantee it will happen,
you aren’t entitled to it so you just have to keep trying in the hope of getting it.
don’t knock their incompetance as that’s what you are trying to capitalise on :-)
