There is less and less information on the PFP site now. No final bill from them. I have had a bill from BG based on the usage from the 4th October to the 29th November (my most recent reading) But today see just when I was going to pay it by credit card. Two further amounts of £5.97 & £5.51 dated 3/12/21 and described as Not invoiced! What the heck is that!?
Looking at an earlier thread it suggests it is the standing charge. But my bill up to the 29th November includes the standing charges. And these two charges work out at about 21 days. Surely you shouldn't have to pay standing charges in advance!

My BG account now states I have a £5.97 debit - though no indication on how this figure has been arrived at, maybe final balance transferred from PfP?.  PfP site just states that my £13.98 is now overdue.
I got that too along with a £5.51 debit as well dated 3/12/21. And described as Not Invoiced. My credit of over £300 with PFP not appeared yet.

21 days.... could be 12th September - 3rd October? Give or take a day somehwere.

A lot of people seem to be reporting similar debits, it could be that BG systems are adding the standing charge onto accounts for those dates. They can't bill for use though until they have verified handover readings which may have to wait until PFP generate final bills.

Likely described as Not Invoiced because a bill hasn't been generated yet actually showing the SC?
  • Hi,
just checked, £4.73 deducted from my 25/11 balance, no details on the Billing tab
When BG took over there was about 3 weeks between the electricity and gas dates, and the £4.73 equates to 19 days gas standing charge.
Still no PfP final bill nor balance refund.
  • Just noticed a £4.90 charge has been recently added to my (fully paid up to date) BG account with the note:

"This bill is for 30th Sep 2021 - 1st Nov 2021 and is based on an estimated meter reading. Please pay by 15th Nov 2021."

Perhaps this represents the (backdated) difference between the non-direct debit and dd rate - but my tariff details haven't changed so bit of a mystery. If this is the case it seems a little underhand as, AFAIAA, customers were not warned that this would happen if they had not yet completed DD mandates.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist

The Price Promise April 22 tariff is the same for DD or pay on receipt so there's no difference to charge for.

Someone reported a couple of pages back that Live Chat told them it was Standing Charges and the amounts seem to make sense for it to be SC for 12th September to whenever BG started billing normally at the start of October.

But my November bill, for 30th Sep to 1st Nov, of c.£80, was spot on - and of course paid on time. So this latest addition is, so far, nonsensical.

And my final PFP bill up to 30th Sep (which was available briefly, before disappearing) was also spot on and paid from my balance owing from PFP, which was also showing as accurate on their portal.

Incidentally, it is interesting to note that the administrators for Symbio Energy (from whom I switched to PFP Nov. '20 and whose accounting system seemed a total mess) have already managed to get final bills and account balances assigned to all or most of the ex-Symbio customers even though Symbio folded almost a month after PFP.

Perhaps PFP's accounts were more convoluted than they appeared, even given the administrators report/s referred to earlier.

    Hi,
was it dual fuel, did it have same start date for both and the same number of days standing charge?
The discrepancy with mine was that the statement had different number of days.

I'm not sure PFP should bill us to the 30th September, or even if they can.  British Gas were appointed SoLR on 10th September and they became our supplier from 11th September.  That might be one of the reasons why those bills were so quickly withdrawn (a communication from PFP suggested they were never intended for customer visibility anyway)

The initial report from the administrators stated that the situation with PFP was complex as there's actually 2 companies and the lines between them are blurred, with no formal inter-company agreement.  This is why the generation of final bills is delayed.

There's other companies who went bust after PFP that have generated final bills, Symbio as you said and also Avro spring to mind.  I get that it's very frustrating but my experience says it does come out in the wash eventually, I find it easier to sit on my hands and let it play out knowing I have accurate records and I can cross check it all when the time comes.
  • Hi,
think we just have to wait for final bills from PfP, then check and make sure dates and readings correspond.
