PfP Energy ceases trading - here's everything you need to know

I have been able to create a BG gas account but only have a gas reading (electric is missing). No bill from PFP or BG for me yet, and can't seem to setup a direct debit.
There's some guff on the PFP bg page saying they will be in touch, mention of contract packs they've not sent, and that 'There was an issue with the data transfer which we’re aware of now, and we’re catching up on your other fuel – you’ll get your other contract pack through soon. We can't merge your accounts, so you'll have two separate accounts and two Direct Debits.'
Looks like the page is being updated weekly on Thursdays aroun 1630: https://www.britishgas.co.uk/energy/pfp-energy.html0 -
The 'Latest Messages' section has reappeared in my account. Nothing added since my August statement though, but hopefully a sign things will be resolved soon.0

No comms from BG for an age.
Though I've had an email today from PfP for another meter reading before 12th Nov.
quote 'to ensure an accurate final bill'.
Given that the defunct PfP tariiff is far favourable to the BG one, I'm hoping that I'll have a final bill as close to the 12th Nov. as possible.
Well.....one can only hope!Fashion on the Ration 2025 37/660 -

I still haven't got an account with BG and I've had little info from BG. If I am charged from the 11th at the BG tariff rate until, and subsequent to, my attempt to switch, I'm leaning towards arguing that I've been disadvantaged by the SOLR process.

I switched to Green Supplier within hours of PfP ceasing to trade. That went through, as did the subsequent transfer to Shell when Green threw in the towel.I reckon Shell will still have my account running before BG would have managed it. Close escape!0

I have had a bill generated today based on the reading they received when I switch to Sainsburys Energy.
I got the email from BG on the 7th Sept about PFP going bust so switch to Sainsbury’s Energy on the 8th which was completed on the 29th Sept.

Not complaining but others might be interested: - even though BG advised by email that they 'took over' my account from 10th September my 'final bill' from PFP ran to 30th September and my first BG bill ran from this date. But, as I said - not complaining.
My only gripe is with PFP who, even though they were no longer trading, and my account was over 2 months worth in credit, contrived to charge me an extra £2 odd simply because I cancelled my DD shortly after the 10th September 'takeover'. This they did by charging me the 'non-dd' daily rate of 25.98p vs the 'dd' rate of 19.13p (both including VAT) for the whole 31 days of September. Seems rather underhand to me and probably amounts to a pretty penny if applied across the board. Must have been desperate, I guess.I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist0 -

But, as I said - not complaining.Me neither. A very pleasant surprise. Just got to enjoy the last week or so of my Zog fixed gas account, now.
