I've no idea off the top of my head. It's one of these https://energycentral.com/sites/default/files/ece/nodes/471465/smartheader1-mobile.jpg
  • Hi,
that's not your meter, that's the IHD, your meter will be near fuse box, or in a wallbox outside.

So BG have now sent through their Tarif details.

    PFP unit rate: 11.22p
    PFP standing charge 18.22p

    BG unit rate: 20.680p
    BG standing charge 24.113p

a recent email from BG assured me that these prices where cheaper than available on comparison sites.

on CEC I see Sainsburys energy offering

    unit rate: 19.818p
    standing charge 17.262p

    no early exit fee's.

I hate it when companies try and mislead people.

Had I not waited I would have had an even cheaper deal!!.

the switch to BG is slated to be on 30/09/2021.

Really annoyed that we've been mislead like this.

This is what BG stated to us on 16/09/2021

We’re setting you up on our Price Promise Apr 2022 tariff
We’ve created a new tariff for our PFP Energy customers - and its currently cheaper than any other tariffs on price comparison websites. We’ve competitively priced it in line with the Ofgem energy price cap and it doesn’t have an exit fee.

They shouldn't be allowed to write stuff like that when its not true. at the time they sent the email they hadn't published their Tariff's so no way to confirm what they wrote.
I agree, they shouldn't be able to get away with saying that, when they are clearly not.

I guess the only redress is gather the evidence then raise a formal complaint and take it to ofgem after 8 weeks, if necessary.

Would love to see what excuse they come up with!

This is why I don't trust them about waiting before switching away either, it almost feels like a trap to extract as much as they can from you for as long as they can.

I've had a BG email saying I've requested to change my password. I've checked on my DNO site and I'm still listed as being with PfP. I can't change a password on an account I don't have. Unless the email is a scam.

I shall leave well alone for the time being.
    Its legit from BG.
...as long as the link in the email is to a britishgas.co.uk site....

Scammers will seize opportunities like this to prey on unsuspecting people and can easily succeed in sending legitimate looking email asking for personal information.

    Be careful what you click!

The administrators are not responsible for refunding credits ,only for chasing debtors. Any credit balances are the responsibility of the SOLR - IF you are successful in switching away from the failed suppliers to a third party then refund of your credit balance  will be very low on the list of priorities for the SOLR who will be fully occupied setting up new customer accounts.
It the responsibility of the Administrators to get PFP to produce your final bill. They needs this for their accounts.

Once you have chased them to get this done they will send it to BG who will refund your credit.

when I chased YE for this they did it straight away.

Is that based on anything more than speculation?

The reason I ask is that when Scottish Power were appointed SoLR following Tonik's demise I switched away as quick as I could and didn't appear to suffer any delays with getting my credit refund as a result. Of course, this is a sample size of one but it is enough to not make me at all concerned in future.
  • As the email says supply from 30th September, does that mean billed at Pfp rates til then?  Sainsbury's energy say they will request a meter read on the 30th for a switch on the 5th Oct.
