Contacted Franke 8 weeks ago regarding a warranty claim on our white Sirius sink. After a a few emails back and forth (a delay of over a week between each email) I haven’t heard anything for over 3 weeks after a promise of being referred to their ‘Quality Control’ - despite me chasing them.

Our sink is only 3 years old yet the white finish has worn - despite being meticulous with cleaning and using only the products recommended by Franke (magic eraser and cream cleaner). The sink looks awful and grey, and ruins the look of our kitchen. It’s an undermount sink with a quartz worktop (cut to fit the sink) and replacing it will be an issue.

    Franke customer service is non-existent.
  • We've had a Franke white fraganite sink for less than two months and can honestly say that it's the worst sink I've ever had. EVERYTHING stains it almost upon contact. We don't leave dirty dishes overnight, these are stains from putting a spoon/ladle in the sink whilst you are in the middle of cooking dinner. By the time you get to doing the washing up - say an hour later - the sink is stained. And it takes A LOT of elbow grease and products to clean it - if you are lucky and you manage to remove the stain in the first place.
It looks like a sink for a showroom house, not a real one where people actually need to do dishes.
I don't know how cheap or expensive they are (we rent so our landlord paid for it) but I'm sure there must be something else available for the same money that is better. Do yourself a favour and do not buy this sink.
  • I wish I had come to this website before buying Franke.

I have bought a sink and a tap. The sink was scratching from day 1 with just normal plates and cutlery (which seems to be a common theme from other reviews). We had to start using a plastic bowl to protect the sink even though the "Franke" guidance suggests you should not do this.

The tap was even worse. A "Mythos" tap in silk steel which looked brilliant when installed but was almost impossible to keep clean/unblemished. We used soapy water as advised but the tap looked tarnished. We then started to use another tap cleaner (checking that none of the materials were on the "banned" list in the tap cleaning guidance). This did no good.

When we went to claim on our guarantee we were basically dispatched and told it was all our fault for the cleaning products we had used. No support whatsoever (again, seems to be a common complaint).

I am not sure if our choice of cleaning product caused the issues but I would suggest that the Franke products are not fit for purpose in the kitchen and are damaged too easily. I've never ever had such problems with sinks and taps over the years and this is the most I've ever spent on them...the only disappointment in the whole of my kitchen.

    Buy elsewhere.

You should go back and put quotation marks in your posts. Otherwise, it’s too confusing.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

How many sinks do Franke sell in this country? A million a year, perhaps?

This thread is why I'd only have a stainless steel overmount sink - sturdy, easy to clean...

    Definitely.

My parents had a stainless steel sink in their kitchen for twenty years. When they (finally) replaced the kitchen, they reused the sink because it still looked great.

Our new kitchen will be fitted in a couple of weeks. Unsurprisingly, we're going with stainless steel.
