Contacted Franke 8 weeks ago regarding a warranty claim on our white Sirius sink. After a a few emails back and forth (a delay of over a week between each email) I haven’t heard anything for over 3 weeks after a promise of being referred to their ‘Quality Control’ - despite me chasing them.

Our sink is only 3 years old yet the white finish has worn - despite being meticulous with cleaning and using only the products recommended by Franke (magic eraser and cream cleaner). The sink looks awful and grey, and ruins the look of our kitchen. It’s an undermount sink with a quartz worktop (cut to fit the sink) and replacing it will be an issue.

    Franke customer service is non-existent.
Why having had this bad experience with Franke did you buy another one ?

    Good Afternoon,

    Thank you for your mail.

Based on the image provided, it would appear the Sink has succumbed to impact damage, which, unfortunately is not covered under the terms of the Guarantee and would be classed as accidental damage. The only other possibility is the Sink was installed in this condition, which seems unlikely.

Whilst we cannot say what exactly has caused this, it is likely the impact occurred in the area highlighted.

With this seemingly being the case, I am afraid we cannot supply a free of charge replacement, but we can supply a replacement at a discounted rate - 33% off the rrp of any Sink within the range.

    Kind Regards

Why would I buy another franke sink the same model has faults found by other customers. I can't believe this has occurred so soon. I  believe the sink is not good quality. I would not claim accident damage on my home insurance who will investigate and will find the sink is not scratch resistant  this has not been caused by me I am sure

Spoke to another plumber he said the sink is not fit for purpose. He said it says it scratch resistant and it marks terriably with hard water marks.

Scratch resistant doesn't mean it's impervious to damage which is what has happened here, nor does it mean the sink won't get hard water marks, as any other sink would do. It doesn't mean the sink is not fit for purpose.

Either take a chance via the legal route with Amazon or accept there's not much more to do and move on.

Obviously, a black sink is going to show limescale build up. It’s a poor choice if you are in a hard water area, as it will be hard to keep it clean.

Has anyone expert  looked at the sink, yet, to say what’s wrong with it?  Otherwise, you are just going round in circles. A scratch resistant sink is not completely proof against scratching, yet you say you have not scratched it at all, etc etc etc etc.

You seem to be saying that Franke are no good, but it’s likely that the sink was damaged in transit, if you did not scratch it.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • We have a dishwasher so we rarely use the sink we have another 2 sinks I have never scratched them we had a glass sink before the franke one was never damaged or scratched. This model is like plastic I can't really do anything as franke is blaming me so I decided to get another Stainless steel sink . The seller doesn't want to help . I have to rip out the silicone which may damage the worktop . I spent loads doing up the room but now have to ruin the worktop in order to remove sink.

Franke probley knows it will cost them more then the sink so don't want to take the blame for a not fit for purpose sink I have ocd I look after everything I have to clean everyday I would never damage the sink myself. How can one impact make that much big scratch unless it was already weak in that area.

I agree that just changing it for a steel sink is a great idea. So, now you need to get your money back for the defective sink. You do that through Amazon.

So you're admitting there's been an impact?
