Also, by looking at closely like that you can see it's a scratch caused by some impact or damage rather than a crack. It's not a continuous line as you'd expect with a crack.0 -

Still looks very much like a fracture to me, tho'.If that was a scratch, it would have been surely have ben caused in one single incident. It would therefore be one continuous scratch. Instead it's made up of a multitude of striated lines which is exactly what a fracture would look like. To my eyes anyhoo.2 -
I left 1 star review for the sink. The seller has received 3 negative during past weekend I will leave negative aswell.
This morning email from seller.
Good morning,
As previously advised, we have spoken to the manufacturer regarding this issue as all warranty issues must go through them.
With all the information provided, the manufacturers have got back to us and confirmed they do not believe this issue to be a manufactural defect which is covered under the guarantee.
We have advised the customer to report any further details to the manufacturer directly and they may be able to assist further.

however at this current time, there is nothing more we can do.

Harrywayon said:Thanks I have legal protection on home insurance but I don't want to use my no claims on a sink. I don't know how it happened either franke engineer can come to my house . He can see I have 3 sinks so this one is rarely used . All sinks have been maintained brilliantly . I don't have any sharp pots or dishes. Glass cups. Blunt knives.
The plumber said thermal shock could of happened when the sink was in transit with a knock and when I put hot water it expanded. If it was a impact there is no dents scruffs or any other marks in that area.Ok, that's a bit better - the plumber was actually suggesting that 'all' the thermal shock could have done is to 'push over the edge' a fault/damage/weakness that had already been caused/was always there? That's more plausible (because the first interpretation wasn't) but is still a bit of a stretch. It's location - now that I see it's going towards a corner, rather than being positioned just under that near-inaccessible central drain position - also makes it, to my mind and limited experience, a pretty much classic location for an impact fracture. This could have been caused in a multitude of accidental ways, possibly even before packaging (I recall, many many moons ago, opening an unmarked sinktop box and finding the enclosed 'top in two clean halves.)You do have LP? Great! As I understand it, the 'excess' of this part of your policy is minor or perhaps even non-existent, because they only take on cases they feel confident of winning, and can therefore claim all their costs. In any event, advice is free. I suspect they won't take it on, because to 'prove' it wasn't caused by an impact following receipt will be nigh-on impossible. If it is due to a construction fault, then some pretty serious analysis would be required of it to show this - I doubt that's a realistic proposition. However, call them up, explain the situation, keep it short and keep it clear (don't mention reviews and stuff), and tell them the facts - you certainly have not done anything to the sink, and the sink looked perfect on installation (if you are 100% certain that is the case?).To be fair on you, I cannot think of any way you - the user - could have caused that, and certainly not without being fully aware that you had. Even, as suggested before, had you stood in that bowl, I think anything that would have caused enough downwards force to achieve such a large fracture would have 'gone all the way', and the culprit would have been literally up to his neck in it.Call up your LP for free advice - take it from there. I doubt they'll take it on, but they might suggest the best way to impose pressure on the retailer - words to use, letter-before-action type stuff.0 -
I know I said I was out but can I ask one final question. Are you the only person in this household? If not, how can you be certain that someone else hasn't been doing something in the sink to cause that damage?1
