Thanks I will contact Franke again today but as I used a private plumber I dont think they cover it.
It's got nothing to do with "private plumbers".  They are merely concerned as to whether it was installed correctly.

Do Franke even offer installation? I'd have thought most (if not all) of these sinks are installed by plumbers and kitchen fitters hired by the homeowner / purchaser...

As opposed to what other type of plumber? As long as the sink was installed in accordance with the manufacturer installation instruction then I don't see that being an issue. All the details and claim form are here:

Ok that's fine . That would be no problem. The big issue is that scuffs or scratches are not covered.

But, you said at the outset that you hadn't scratched it!!!!!!!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

You should be taking the issue up with the retailer that sold you the sink in the first 12 months not Franke. As long as the sink has been installed in accordance with the fitting instructions, it is for the retailer to honour the warranty.

Retailer does have obligations, but under the Consumer Rights Act that has nothing to do with the warranty.
And why 12 months? IIRC, it's 6 months and 6 years.

If it was installed in accordance with the fitting instructions, then one can take it with Franke under the warranty (that I quoted earlier), but it may be easier to deal with the supplier under the CRA.
