Also sorry to hear that your mum has COVID.
I don't think COVID will go away in my lifetime.
As someone said earlier unless we live in a total bubble there is going to be transmission.
We have to live our lives.
    It's a balance and a difficult path.

Hope your mum is on the mend soon  :)
    Take care of you  xxx

Passata or tin of chopped tomatoes, swirl of red pesto if you have it, onions, peppers, mushrooms and voila you have Mediterranean chicken. Mr SA loves it.

Throw a can of mushroom soup and some garlic on top - delicious with rice.

  • Buffy depends what you have in your cupboards.

At a push a tin of vegetable soup will make a chicken casserole, you could add frozen peas, just see what you have got.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.
  • If you don’t have much else in it can be lovely torn up and simmered for hours in gravy until it’s falling apart and served in part baked baguettes. I do this with leftover turkey at Christmas.

  • Sorry to hear about your mum
i feel your anguish , it’s the only reason I get anxious about COVID , if I caught it how would I look after mum and also avoid passing it.
From what I’ve read COVID is most contagious in the 2 days before you develop symptons so unfortunately unless you avoid any contact / air space altogether there will always be a risk and it is absolutely not your fault , I get you feel responsible but your not , it’s quite likely it was passed to your mum before you were even aware you had it

Please don’t rush in to doing anything too soon and please take a little extra time going back to work , to make sure you are ok and also that your is managing it as best she can
  • Sorry to read that your mum has tested positive...hope she feels better soon.

You know, I know and most people who work in education know that Covid is circulating in schools. It is amazing that you have evaded it up til now.

    Hope  you are feeling better..

This!   Blame those in charge (gov) who absolutely refused to make it difficult for the super spreading kids to spread it.  Who thought it totally acceptable for 10% of those kids to get long covid.  Doesn't make it difficult to see how they thought it perfectly acceptable for all teachers, vulnerable or with vulnerable families, to get it.  Put the blame in the right place, you personally could not have avoided it!
There is nothing new in this.   Starting over 60 years ago my father used to spend every half term & early end of term recovering from all the things he caught during term time & used to work through.  Starting over 40 years ago my sister used to do the same.  They were lucky they never had to deal with covid & it was just luck.

Sorry your mum has caught Covid and hope her symptoms are mild.  It is everywhere so I would not worry about how she caught it.  Unless you lock yourself away it was inevitable really.  Hope you are starting to feel better.
