Hi Buffy, I have just been catching up. I’m another that clears my card straight away. I do use it for the protection on online buying, but clear it as soon as I spend anything, well before the monthly invoice. If I have to leave anything on it, it plays on my mind and I feel so much better when it’s at zero, even if that impacts on savings briefly.
You are so right about the man appreciating his green car park view, we forget how very lucky we are.It does seem like your mum is already enjoying full time care, you are an amazing daughter 🌸Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

You are without a doubt a great daughter Buffy and have the patience of a saint2

I am not a great daughter. Am ok tho. Not the worst.
Ok so somewhat hungover today. Had a great time last night. Really nice pub. And good friends. Nothing too heavy, didn't talk about Mum much at all and I felt very normal. Slightly dreading school. Vaguely dreading work but that is not unusual plus I do love my job so I will be ok I think for a bit at least, until new management wave whatever evil wand they will be waving.
Picked up new glasses, still like them but need to be taking more care over my appearance generally.
Am worried about mum, she has had a run of bad days. I also think she is upset that nothing house wise has changed. I get that. So am I but as I have said before I have no enthusiasm and do come back to what is the point? She had the hairdresser over today, I didn't know they were going in the kitchen, normally a living room job so from the kitchen you can see the conservatory and I think she was mortified and I said well if you had told me then I would have made more of an effort. She got upset cos she says it isn't for the hairdresser but that I (as in me) have no where to sit (and so in the holidays I go out - a hungover me in the car for an hour and a half with a sausage sandwich and a cuppa from the bakers today) and the house is just functional - sub text it is n't a home - well no, it isn't, it works around her. I asked if she wanted to use the spare room as a dressing room or an office - NO! she likes having her make up in the living room (it is only a small case) and the laptop and all the meds and her mail and her doctors letters and.........BUT it looks so cluttered, such a mess(her words)......It is exactly as Jelly totts said, She wants one thing but also wants everything exactly as it is. This is why it only worked when she went away. She didn't see how much work it took.
Am watching (by accident) a cartoon film about corgis. Really weird. Really weird. Going to find the remote and a cup of tea.
Oh My God, I almost forgot! I paid off the card, I now only have 10,427 in savings. But I think it is better, one focus, savings. And I don't really mean only. It is a lot really, the most I have ever had.
I found 170 in an old account and that will go in, plus the monthly 500 so it will be up to 11 soon.... Wanted it to be 15 by Christmas. I shall give it a go.

I’m glad you had a nice time last night away from it all.Mr SA is like your mum and he’d everywhere full of clutter if I didn’t clear it up. I allowed him a little set of drawers for his rubbish at the side of his chair but this escalated onto the surface of the cupboard with a pile of things he said he needs to hand. So I got him a little basket to keep these things in, it’s overflowing now, drives me nuts 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Drives me a bit nuts... Especially as I am not naturally tidy and fight the urge to just give in and pile too!!Nevertheless she persisted.1 -

I’m reading The Beekeeper of Aleppo at the moment, it’s about refugees fleeing their country. Really makes you realise how it is. We might moan about our own country but we are so lucky to be living here and not somewhere like Afghanistan.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I have that as an audio book. I have put off listening to it as I thought it would be heavy, necessary but heavy.
I did my walk and walked the dogs, it is so much for them. Both spark out now.
My friend's mum has less then a month left. It is unreal. unfair.
Do you think I should write her a card?
I think I should. I love her and will miss her. My friend, my heart breaks.
Also my friend is not showing any progress today. I cannot believe how ill she is.
Mum seems a lot better than earlier. That is something.
I am so miserable tonight.
Sorry guys.
