Mentioning just in case it saves you trips and/ or pennies... I bought a couple of sets of washable puppy pads from the riverine shop, instead of disposables. They just go in a super quick wash or in with anything else and dry overnight or on the line. Worked fine and even when very little pup didn't seem much inclined to chew them - so they're still around as crate/ carrier liners or for another puppy.

We had accidental snails in our aquarium. It doesn't take many snails to make lots of snails..... I hope that you feel better soon.2

They do lay eggs which are a git to get off the glass etc but do amazing things to algae!
I also have assassin snails (and I wonder why I am single!) who deal with the ever breeding types in the bigger tank...

I had cocoa which seems to have lessened the earache? How odd.
I am sweating hot. living room is 25 degrees. The heating bills terrify me.
The rabbits are okish.
The little one hides nearly all the timeand my girl is highly nervous of the other girl. I could potentially do a pair and a trio, but I think the little one is scared of everyone.
ugh.

I am watching the ITV news, very emotive but if it is genuine, the volunteers in Poland are amazing. People have driven to the border with food and supplies, they arrive willing to take a family with them to live with them, which I think is amazing. the fire service is organising transport from the train station, locals are greeting people. Just made me cry and cry for the Ukrainians, what a desperate situation to be in and then at the same time how wonderful people are. President Zelensky is amazingly brave to stand up to Russia or Putin I should say, those fighting the Russian soldiers are so brave, I wonder how the Russian soldiers feel? Do they really want this battle? Interesting listening to the experts, about Putin's tactics. ITN don't mess about with being emotional! wow. The national pride from the Ukrainians, there aren't actually words.
In other less dramatic news Mum is driving me nuts, I have an earache and a sore throat and a temperature. Since having covid my immune system seems to have disappeared. I did go back to bed yesterday and felt a bit better but today I feel crap again, anyhow Mum was observing that I only last 5 days before I collapse and that my job was making me ill, well yes that is partially true as work is stressful and this is the worst time of year but it is also that mum doesn't go to bed until 11.30 and I have to let the dogs out, lock up and tidy up before I go to bed which means I am going to bed at 12am and getting up at 6.30 and it simply isn't enough sleep for me And yes I know I should go to bed before her, I did that on Friday as I felt so terrible and it was lovely, comfortable in bed falling asleep to the TV. The only downside is the poor dogs. Mum can't always lock the back door so doesn't let the dogs out at night.
I am moaning now, sorry, everything is a constant stress, work, the stairlift coming! (which is free I found out), the animals, I never have enough time to do everything cos it is all on mum's routine. I was going to come home early on Thursday, but I knew if I did she would have a list of things to do, and would want dinner early etc. so no chance to relax at all. That is the real problem if I am honest. Last night we were looking for something to watch and ended up watching a film about Hitler and Chamberlain which was good but not really what I wanted to watch, but have to keep mum happy - she is in so much pain. Got up this morning at 8 to have a wee! Was going back to bed but as she was awake I said good morning, then it is pills, tea, biscuits, empty the dishwasher let the dogs out, well I am up then aren't I? This is the reality of caring for someone full time and I don't like it. sorry.
My friends say I need a weekend away and I would love that but Mum simply isn't capable, when I went to Manchester in November (just before I got covid) she managed but she didn't really eat cos she was worried about the mess. maybe once the stair lift is in it will be better. She is definitely looking forward to it coming.
I might go back to bed. it worked yesterday. Tho breakfast is needed and I have to go out buy bread and hay.

@Buffythedebtslayer - how big are your dogs? We used to have a cocker spaniel & he would use the cat flap to access the garden whenever he needed to go out - would a cat /dog flap be an option for you?3
