Glad piggie is on the mend. I wouldn't believe the vet either. They are often pretty clueless about cavies.
  • Am back at work and the rabbit bonding has gone tits up.

The two bigger girls were fighting or sort of chasing, then one of the boys got out the pen, followed by the other boy.......then a girl..........No one will go back in the pen (within an aviary so safe from predators) and all 3 are hiding in the aviary.............The thing is, it isn't safe, I piled up the "furniture" from their set ups (they can't use it, it all has to be neutralised) and there is a bin liner of their litter.... They could injure each other. My original girl is I think unhappy.

Unfortunately I had about 3 hours sleep last night, had work to do and half term was a bust. I can't stay outside any more and need to just hope they figure it out. I need bed!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Sorry the bonding hasn’t gone well. I found with my two boys that they just got on with it. You have a lot more to worry about but I’m sure they’ll be fine. X

  • Do you really want to keep the fosters, Buffy, or is this a decision point for them going back to your friend/ to another rescue?  This is a whole lot of hassle to ask if they are not settling well with your own bunnies.

She doesn't want them back. So far no one is damaged. I am hoping they will sort things out.

    so tired!

  well at least you can get rid of the 'friend' then!
And in that case the decision is entirely yours as to whether you keep them.

The problem I have now is that the two fosters and one of mine are now friends (traitorous scum!) and my other two are in hiding.

I suspect my boy would go back with his original friend ok but I just don't have time to rebond. Everything was going so well first off.

I am going to leave them as is for now, the two girls have plenty of hiding places, the main aviary looks like steptoes yard!

It is far from ideal but am stuck.

Also to be honest with the situation in Ukraine I am just having a generally anxious feeling about everything.

Yes it’s an anxious time. I’ve turned the news off to be honest. I’ll listen once a day but repeatedly hearing the same story won’t do me or them any good.

  • I am limiting what I watch but I need to know an extent as the students know and see an awful lot of crap. One child told me yesterday we were going to be bombed at 12pm. Bloody tic tock can do one!

Anyhow the relief of the weekend. Yesterday I went shopping! I had to get earbuds, hay, puppy pads, snacks for lunch and snails for the aquarium.........really I did! to solve an algae problem.

I resisted a biscuit barrel, some clothes, and didn't resist two more fish.

It was also the big amazon order of rabbit food, dog food, tinned food (soup) kitchen roll.

I have been paid thankfully and really need to get a handle on stuff! I haven't bought anything silly this month but due to bulk buying and the vets things are tight so it will be a big river free month for March.

I have a terrible earache and have felt ill for most of the week. Given that I have hoovered, done the washing put mum's washing away, all furries(rabbits all surviving) have been fed and done breakfast I think I will go back to bed for a bit. No deliveries and no pressing need to leave the house.
