do you have a panic alarm?
we hired one from care services when mum was ill , the base sat in the lounge and she wore a wrist strap. Should she fall or need assistance on the rare occassion we weren't with her , either the impact of a fall or her pressing the button would contact their help centre and they had both my sister and I number and the key store to the house.
it cost around £20 a month and although never really needed ( mum only ever set it off by accident) it was reassurring that we were contactable , particulary at night etc when we were asleep.
I'm so sorry you aren't able to get more help , I had my sister as long as I booked her in but I don't think I could have managed everything without that small bit of respite a few times a week and her popping in around work to pick up the general day to day chores that I didn't have the energy levels to
Its so easy to overlook yourself , you are important too and you need to be able to rest and recuperate if you are going to be of any assistance to your mum.
please try and find a dog walker , maybe a neighbour who has one and could take yours , a responsible teenager who would welcome a little bit of extra cash or someone in the community who does it to earn a few extra pennies , you have enough of your plate without the fido's too.
Try to get them in to the routine of going in to the garden to do their business when you retire to bed and give yourself a little time in the sanctuary of your room before you try and switch off , you will sleep better if you have had the time to unwind before shutting your eyes.
You really are spinning plates right now , I get its extremely difficult and ultimately your concern is more for your mum then yourself but things generally become more challenging rather then improve as time goes on. Do look in to finanical assistance that mum could claim to ease the work you currently do , if she had some kind of assistance even if she doesn't want carers coming in , you could have a little home help for washing , hoovering , dish washing , shopping , dog walking , its wrong that you have to source this yourself when you feel so stretched but it will help you so much.5 -
Morning, I am off work with the earache which got a lot worse at 4 this morning.
I can't stand for very long at all really dizzy, but have managed to set cover etc. I am going to take myself off to bed in a minute.
thanks again for all your comments XXNevertheless she persisted.4 -
Sounds like you have some sort of vertigo. Look after yourself and hope you feel better soon. I also agree pushing for Attendance is a good idea even if it means you can pay for some help in the house/garden or dog walking.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Are you sure the earache isn't caused by sinus trouble, my ears have been popping for the last few days, driving me mad. One day last week my fitbit said I had done 125 flights when I had barely moved off my backside. All about air pressure. There is a sudofed product that you can only get from the pharmacy, Boots make their own version, if you feel it may help?? It is a real pain in the face isn't it!

Hello folks X
It has been an awful week at work. Awful. People have been in tears, children are insane partly due to the Ukrainian situation and all the tension and partly because of covid and the "freedom" they had so not vaguely equipped for a day of school. Also frankly some of them are just nasty! Luckily I teach some lovely year 11s and 10s so they saved me along with some lovely friends at work. We have been saving each other all week. I don't know how next week will be.
I can't watch the news without crying. I cannot believe this is happening. I am a historian in a very small way, I understand the situation but to see the struggle and fear in people. To know you can do so very little to stop this evil, this absolute evil. A woman on the news said we are all hostages to Putin and she is right. He can do what he wants. This is the reality. And I wish I was brave and could leave this life and go and help. I actually cannot bear this. All week I have listened to radio four in the morning and then don't watch the news at all. And for anyone who knows me, that is highly unusual. When I was off on Monday I watched Charmed ALL DAY, I just couldn't bear it. Those poor people.
There is a collection in town today so I will go shopping for it but it feels so little.Nevertheless she persisted.3 -
It upsets me also to think of how much different the Crimea could have been & if it had the Ukraine would not be happening. What a difference a president can make, a coward that will not have left penniless versus this man Zelensky.

I have avoided the news all day. I took some donations. I feel more settled, post lunch I took a nap and think I might have relaxed.
Watched a good film tonight, The Weekend Away. The main actress is very good.
Also did some big spending, 78 pounds on George Clothes, 17 on a new handbag and some new eye cream. My low spend months are all good but I have 2 bras and 2 nighties!! I keep washing them.......... My work bag is utilitarian and I wanted some thing cute. so there.
Tomorrow I want to do my room.
