    Hi everyone,

I cannot tell you how difficult I've found getting the time to do this over the course of the last couple of weeks (@ParkingMad gave me a nudge around then and I've been trying to get this completed since - thanks so much for the nudge @ParkingMad !), but last night I got up to speed on this thread and woke up super early to get the consultation questionnaire completed and submitted. Done now!

With that said, I note a lot of people referencing evidence - I've written about my experiences in court, but do you all mean that we need to send an actual evidence pack and full description of the cases to the email address provided? That's tight, but I can try.

In the meantime, am planning to use @JenniD's excellent letter to her MP as a template and will send something similar to mine very soon.

Thanks so much for all the effort, everyone - have nudged people around me. If you can think of anything else that I should do, please let me know.

    Warm regards.

Well done! I don't think there is a need to include transcripts etcetera, but stating facts known to you is actually a witness statement. Quoting case numbers etcetera is also useful.

I think that's all you need to add in your complaint to your MP.

My Lovely Cousin mentioned the fact that several heads of parking companies have criminal convictions, and it cannot be right that the DVLA release personal data to a man who obtained a motorist's address then threatened to rape his wife without carrying out CRB checks (or whatever it's called now).

Don't forget, Patrick Troy was taking indecent photos of women when he was the head of the BPA, and is now a convicted sex offender.

Firstly, thank-you! Secondly . . . say what??!! That is both horrifying and also an absolutely excellent point!

That is shocking and very worrying. I like many others have zero confidence in the DVLA.

I never heard of Patrick Troy - but did some digging. The police wanted to impose serious conditions on him. The man is clearly a danger to females.

The BPA said on their website that he stepped down for "personal reasons".  Any organisation with a shred of worth would of sacked him and publicly condemned him and his actions reaffirming that sexual offending, voyeurism and misogynism have no place in their organisation or society as a whole. Its not virtue signalling, but taking a stand and sending a message- but they just want to gloss over it and allow him to just leave with internal impunity!!!  Proof of why they are an unfit shambles.

If you want to see him in action (as it were), check these out:

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I actually remember watching this on TV and thinking he was a complete puppet, a spineless "yes" man who was refusing to acknowledge anything over than the BPA's own narrative. Little did I know that under that cheap M&S suit lurked a vile sexual predator!

    Reply from MP:-

"Many thanks for your email. I am sorry for not coming back to you sooner.

I can confirm that I wrote to my colleagues at MHCLG to raise your concerns about this consultation and am awaiting a response. I will be sure to let you know when I have received one."
This seems to be a standard response but don't hold your breath.

How many MP's have heard back from the MHCLG headed by Robert Jenrick ?

I would suggest NONE.   Maybe your MP is so complacent not to chase up the MHCL .. maybe your MP does not understand that motorists are voters in their millions ?

Your MP only has a job because of voters. NOT THE MHCLG ?

Whilst this mini consulation has closed, your MP is still active and should be working hard to stop the parking scam as deemed in the house of commons and Sir Greg Knight along with other MP's in England and Scotland

The question is, is your MP up to this.  do they want your future vote ??

Reply from Sir Greg to my MP:

    “Dear XXXX

Thank you for your email enclosing a letter from your constituent who has concerns about the current situation regarding parking.

Your constituent is right to be concerned because I am aware of the tactics that many parking companies currently employ which led to my Private Member’s Bill having All Party support across the House of Commons when it because before Parliament.

I am disappointed at the delay in implementing the Act, but I understand the need for consultation as the Government moves forward with this measure.

You are right to have set out your concerns to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government as it is his Department which ultimately now controls the speed of implementation of the Code of Practice which looks unlikely to be in force now until next year.

Of course, as with most legislation in the UK, the provisions of my Act are not going to be retrospective and that is why motorists who feel they have been treated unfairly should continue to raise with their Members of Parliament instances of unfair practices when they occur.

I am grateful to you for forwarding your constituent’s concerns, not only to me, but also to the Minister, as this ensures Ministers remain aware of the strong feeling that exists on this issue and the need to see that fairness is introduced into our law in this particular area.

Thank you and your constituent for raising this.

I hope you find this reassuring."

I'm not particularly reassured as he's not said what, if anything, he's going to do about the consultation & Debt Recovery charges.

PPCs and debt collector thugs are gonna love being able to add £210 for sending one letter about a typical 3 PCNs people tend to get when victimised at their home residential car parks.

Or even more multiples of seventy quid, for more PCNs.

One letter = five hundred quid or more, added under contact that can't be challenged due to CPR 44.5.  And the MHCLG thinks that's OK...?

Not only does it encourage rogue conduct but it encourages multiple PCNs.  Easy money.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
