  • I hear that their new marketing director has come from a discount shop and this is why they are not offering any retention deals. I wouldn't have received a new phone if I hadn't bought one cash. They simply don't do them anymore.
  • Touch HD now showing as available to new customers, but not through the on-line upgrade. - Bit of a blow that

head of retail came from Asda, so we are going down the Hutchison 3 route, funny that considering Hutch founded Orange & selling Orange bagged them 3
we are ending up like 3, complex/hopeless customer service from the outsourced depts & budget budget budget.....

France Telecom have ruined the best british company ever....
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • I've never posted on this site before so I suppose it's not right that my first message is asking for help and for that I apologise :)

My contract expired a few months ago. I'm on the Dolphin £35 one and never go close to using my limit, let alone exceeding it. I'm probably going to drop down to the £20 a month one on an 18 month contract as it suits my needs. Going by their website I can get the Samsung Tocco for free, which seems like a good phone.

Realistically, am I wasting my time phoning them up to see if they can offer me anything better. Someone today said I should phone up to see if I can get the Samsung Omnia but I don't see that happening - am I right?

Well one thing is sure, if you dont ask you wont get. Phone them up and explain you are out of contract and looking for a better priced package and ask if what they can offer.

I have recently upgraded my phone but only wanted 12 month contract got offered this deal which I have accepted

    Nokia N95 8gig £49.99
    600 mins
    500 mins

All for a mere £20 a month which includes £20 a month discount so basically its half price entire contract, im a happy chappy

Was given option to have N96 but phone would cost £97.50 and £10 discount each month on 12 month contract which would have cost £30 a month which I rejected

My upgrade was due in March, but phoned retentions today to see if I could upgrade early as Phones4u offered to buy me out and put me on another network..

    Had:
    900 x-net Mins & Unlimited texts for £45.

    Got:
900 x-net Mins & Unlimited texts again, but for £25 a month & a Nokia 6500 slide (although said I could have any phone)

    Happy with my deal..

Friend phoned up, whos upgrade was due in Jan and she got 1200 mins and unlimited texts and a Samsung Tocca for £26 a month.

Have 3 months left to run with Orange.

    This morning I was offered
a HTC Touch HD for £30 (I do like that handset)
500 texts and 1200 mins and unlimited data

    for £36 a month over 18 months

Does that sound like a good deal?

HTC Touch HD is finally available for online upgrades!! And is much cheaper than for new customers (even with 50£ Quidco)
I just upgraded from my Dolphin35 plan (12 month) to Racoon 30 (12 months) and paid 97.50£ for the phone. Not bad in my opinion :)
  • I think I just got a cracker of a retention deal.

I was going to switch to O2, going onto a £35 a month contract giving 600 mins and unlimited texts, with a LG Cookie phone and £225 cashback.

On phoning orange to get a PAC code and settle my account, they offered me the following

Stay on my current contract £30 a month Dolphin

LG KC910 RENOIR ( much better phone)

    Plus, £225 cashback!!!!!!

    Cant say fairer than that!!!
Been comping for a while....still no luck though
