What I don't get is that Orange online upgrade was giving me Touch HD for 127£ minus 90£ loyalty bonus on tarrif I wanted. I just didn't have time to complete on that evening and next morning phone went out of stock (that was over two weeks ago now)... My min contract ran out in October and i was told by friendly CS that I do have atleast 250£ retention budget...

try online again, computer prob gives more discount as you need not take up a HUMANS time, humans=£ to companies
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

got my 3 6220 upgrade today, excellent phone, better build than my N95 even if it is plastic, beats my N95 hands down - 6220 C is not a downgrade

    lighter

    thinner

    xenon flash

    button size much better

sound quality on loudspeaker is fantastic

    5MP camera - as good as N95

battery - is great compared to N95

    slight disadvantages

longer than N95 - but easier in pockets due to depth/width

    no wifi

smaller screen ( battery last all day now thought ! )

  • Thought i'd do a search to see if this was a scam as yesterday was going to change my current panther 45 plan to PAYG on orange.. The friendly chap there offered me the same plan (mine is unlimited txts, 1400 mins) for £10 a month!!?! Plus unlimited mobile internet, plus a new spangly phone - so getting the samsung tocco today , really chuffed with that deal - can anyone better it!? :D

What monthly tariff did u get and was the phone free.
Retentions will let me have N95 8GB for £175 with £200 account credit. £15 pm for 300 mins, 100 texts and unlimited web
  • Thought I'd give a quick update on mine having just got off the phone from Orange.

    to Recap;
3 weeks ago I wanted to upgrade on orange after 7 years custom, to a pixon on my current contract (30 per month/500mins/unlim text)

    They offered me:
    Pixon for £129
    600mins/unlim txt/unlim data
    33 per month.

I had said I didn't want 600 mins, or unlim text and data. I also wanted the phone for free as I it was free if I set up a new contract. They refused to budge.

Phoned back today and have walked away with:
400 mins/unlim text for £25 per month, with 20% off.

    Even better:
£107 for the Pixon (delivered tomorrow)
£150 back, to be credited to my account.

So rather than giving me a tarrif I didn't want, charging me more for it, and charging me 129 for the phone I wanted for free, they've effectively taken a tenner off my contract (all my calls are magic number, so dropping the mins isn't an issue), and paid me £43 to take the phone off their hands.

    Happy with that :money:

I also mentioned before hand that if nothing could be worked out, I intended to port to a cheap payg for a month, then start again on orange through carphone warehouse.

The lady insinuated that she had £200 to keep me. The reason they couldn't budge when giving unlimited data is that it costs £150 of their budget to do that.

Thanks for the advice from here though guys and gals, meant I could be clued up when I made the call. :T
  • To share my experience, I'd read about retention deals but thought i'd never be offered one, I have just called to cancel my current contract (dolphin 30 - £25 a month) as I am wanting to go back onto PAYG, I was offered the same contract for £5 a month with a free nokia phone (older model but who cares!)
    Im more than happy!!
  • After a few weeks of trying Orange retentions for a decent deal on the C905 for me and 6220 for the missus I thought I would give it one last push today with every intention of asking for the PAC and giving notice.
I managed to find one of the most helpful employees and come off the phone with the following

    C905
    500 mins
    100 texts
    Unlimited Landline calls
    £25 a month
I paid £57 for the phone but had a £80 credit on account.

    6220
    200 mins
    Unlimited Texts
    £15 a month
    Free Phone

I am happy with that as I still keep my Home Broadband.
