Orange Retention Offers

You can still go to Orange, although P4U may also offer you some kind of upgrade (they did with me). Best time to upgrade is generally close to the end of the contract or even better just after its ended.0

Thanks for the help there TightStudent. This is my first contract so not too sure what to expect!0

I have only read the last two pages of this thread but people seem to be saying they are not being offered good retentions deals.
For the last 18 months I have been on Dolphin £35 bought through P4U so have had cashback to reduce it to ~£11.
I phones Orange and asked for PAC code and was offered 300mins, 100txt, unlimited landline calls and phone for £10 less the VAT saving.0 -

My 18 month contract ends in a week or so, on dolphin 35 (600mins and 3000/unlimited texts), normally £35, but with a £15 per month loyalty discount. the misses is on the same deal but because of magic numbers i'm only using about half of those mins - ideally i'd like to move to dolphin 30 (400 mins) but add the £5 for 250mb of internet access, stay at £35 and keep my £15 discount. in my conversations with retention so far they'll do the contract but we're having issues with the handset - i'd like a new BB 8900 or (at a push) an htc diamond, not top-line phones and both free with orange on a new £35 contract, but i'm consistently being asked to pay over £100 for them. I'm happy to pay a bit, maybe up to £30 or £40, but not hundreds and I'd prefer free!
So the question is, in their eyes am i on a £35 contract or a £20 contract when it comes to handsets? I know what I think!
I know that i can start a new contract at various places online and get the phone i want on the deal i want for around £25, but saying this to them has zero affect, plus at the moment new customers can get dolphin 35 for £25, so really I'm not getting much of a deal at £20 and a crappy, base model handset.
Should I bite the bullet and give notice, or is it worth actually waiting till i'm out of contract for more bargining power?

Hi
I just got offered a very similar deal, which I took up!
£10 including VAT, for 300mins, 100txts, unlimited landline calls (including during the day!) and a free handset. Keep my existing number as well.
Even though its for 18 months, you can't argue with a tenner a month all in. And its with Orange - would choose them over '3' or similar any day

Well after turning it down at first as I hadn't yet really researched other networks and which handset to take I phoned back and wouldn't be given the same deal.
So I emailed the Orange Executive Office and a very nice lady called today and gave me an extra 100 texts and I will have the phone tomorrow
The Orange Executive Office are very very good are dealing with things.0 -
Hi everyone - I've been with Orange for 6 years and have always been able to get a decent deal through their retentions dept. My contract ran out in December and I ended up with a bill for over £40 that month as apparently my loyalty bonus of £15 only lasted the length of the 18 month contract. I will be getting another bill for over £40 this month and if I want to avoid one for Feb I need to renew my contract by tomorrow.
They've offered me an ok price plan: 700 mins, 100 texts, unl landline calls for £20 (to be honest I'd prefer a few more texts and a data bundle instead of landline calls but they say they can't change that.)
The problem I have is with the handsets they are offering: I've always managed to get the handset I wanted before. 18 months ago I got a Nokia N95 and only had to pay £60 for it when it had just been released. They basically admit they can't offer me anything better than I've got  for free so I'm stuck. I like my N95 and was hoping for the N96 but I'd need to pay oover £300 for that
They're offering: Nokia 6500, Nokia 6220, Samsung Tocco, Samsung U900 Soul, Blackberry 8320 Emerald Curve or Sony Ericsson C902 for free. Or I can get the Blackberry Curve 8900 for £52, HTC Diamond for £81, Samsung Pixon for £130 or Sony Ericsson C905 for £130,.
Basically I'm looking for some quick advice on which handset to go for? I have a feeling I may have to just stick with my N95 and sell on the handset I get so which of these phones are worth the most? Thanks for any help or advice.:hello: :hello: :hello:0 -
get the C902 and sell it on eBay for 150-200, then wait for the handset you want to come down in price or just keep the cash. get it unlocked for the most. none of those handsets would do for you if you like the NXX phones. i have the C902 though and quite like it but i like small slim handsets.0

My daughters just gone through to retentions and got, 200 mins, unlimited text a Samsung U900 all for £10 a month (18 months), down from £25 a month... She's really happy. . .0
