Hi i got a free LG KC910 with 900 mins and unlimited txts for £20 per month.
  • Hi

Just got what I think is a good deal through the website by doing an upgrade. I am currently on Racoon 35 but can swop to Racoon 25 on a 24 month contract for £20 which has 500 anytime (crossnet) minutes, 100 texts and unlimited calls to landlines. This is enough for what I use. As I have no landline, the unlimited calls to landlines is the main feature - I use about 1000 a month.

Also getting a free LG kc910 which I might sell on Ebay ;). They are going for around the £200 mark. I have a Samsung D900 at the moment which I still like although I might get a LG viewty on Ebay to replace it as they are around the £100 mark.

Not bad for a bit of effort. I will be saving £15 per month and getting a new phone and making £100. I can also recycle my D900 for £20 cash or £24 in M&S vouchers!

All that without phoning retentions! Wonder if I could have done even better by phoning them... Oh well - very happy with my deal anyway :D

  • Hello

I've come to the end of an 18mth contract £35/mth 700m anytime 100txts. Have been offered the same for £20/mth and a nokia 6220. Currently I use an N95 which is a better phone. Is this offer worth taking? Would apprecieate any advice.

You could always sell the nokia 6220 for around £200 on ebay, and perhaps your existing phone and put that towards getting a better phone. That package is a standard offer from retentions. Good money saver. I was offered the 6220 and the panther package with internet for £30. Although i eventually went for the 10% loyalty discount online and got the sony ericsson c905 for free, with upgrading to the panther package at the same time. So it only ended up being £6 more than what i was paying, and got so much more. So it depends on if you want to save money from there offer/go for the most up to date phone and pay a bit more... pretty much evens out.

Depends on who offered it to you, if it was upgrades, no. If it was retention, maybe, but you can always call them back and try to get it for less... Just keep asking, "Is that the best you can do?"
It can depend on who you get through to (it shouldn't, but it can). A new agent may get you a better offer. . . (and ALWAYS try in the week between 9 and 5, weekends are never a good time)...

Just tried my first go at negotiating a deal. I'm currently on the Panther 45 for £45 a month. Their first offer was £25 for the same package with a Samsung 600 or something of that ilk. I explained my need for more of a business phone and had my heart set on a Touch HD and they offered me the same package for £30 but wanted almost £200 for the phone. He then offered a Blackberry Bold, but I'm not in the market for one of those really. Windows Mobile with touch screen is what I want. At that point he gave up and my PAC is on its way to me.

Ok so im planning on ringing orange tonight to discuss the 2 phones i have on my contract with is almost up.

who do i ask to speak to?? do i just ask for retentions??

Also how do i go about discussing the options, im abit of a softie and i have a feeling this might require me to play abit more hard ball than im used to??

    Any hints / tips ??

I'm just looking for the cheapest options possible, i've spend years paying WAAAY over my usage (paying £80 for 2 phones when combined we barely use 60mins of calls)

i know if i ring them up now ill end up signing up to yet another package i don't need, so i want everything prepared.

When you call 150 you got all your options there. There should be one some where that says if your thinking of leaving orange. This shall lead you to the retentions team.

Try http://www.onecompare.com to see what sort of deals you can get from other networks. Probably one of the easiest ways. So go in to the conversation saying basically what you would like and how much you want to spend a month. You could probably get these phones down to £10 a month, and by the sounds of it you would still have enough talk time for your needs.

However if you want a better phone on the other hand it may cost you more though. Worth asking anyway.

They are there to try keep your custom, so dont worry they shall try to work out the best for you. There not sales like upgrades or something like that. They are there to retain your business :D
