    I was paying £15 a month.I had 400xnetwork mins.magic numbers,130 text,free evening and weekend calls to landlines.

My contract was due to end on the 17th,and I phoned them up on the 13th January.

I was offered only 100 texts at first, but I asked very cheekily if I could have more.To my surprise he said yes!!:j

    Hope this helps.

    Many Thanks for that.

I've been told by orange loyalty department that if i ring 5 days before contract is due to expire they have the authority to offer a better deal.

e.g. currently on 300mins, 100 text, 75 orange to orange mins for £15pm on a 12 month contract with a free nokia 6500

They are offering me the same deal now for £20pm on a 18 month contract but with a samsung tocco. However if i ring back 5 days before contract expires they said they will be able to do it for £15pm.

Has anyone else had simliar experiences, e.g. leaveng it late before they get a new deal?

    Cheers

Here's my situation..... My Dad signed up contract in his name 2 years ago and has paid bills to Orange although been my phone and I'm the only one who has used it.

Can I transfer account into my name and ask for a rentention deal and start paying from my bank or will I have to take out a whole new deal with them?

    Thanks

Well I'm done with Orange then. They simply wouldn't give me a free Touch HD on a £40 contract, so I've taken my business elsewhere.

I'd get the upgrade first THEN transfer the acc, that's the safer option.

You can transfer the acc at any time as long as you can pass the credit check.

So I can just transfer into my name and everything... that wouldn't be a problem (aslong as passed credit check which i would)?

Yup, as long as someone can pass the credit check anyone can transfer an acc to anyone else. You can even change the number when you transfer if you want too, but I guess in this case you wouldn't want to.
I have a feeling that once the transfers gone through it breaks the audit trail on the acc (ie it creates a whole new acc) so that's why it's better to get the upgrade before you transfer. But its been a while since I worked on the front line so I maybe wrong there. . .

Spoke to Orange again yesterday (Rang up for a different matter but asked to be put through to upgrades to see if there was any change) and the very nice girl told me that Orange should be getting the N85 imminently (possibly by the end of the week) and will also be stocking the 5800 too.

Incidentally, was offered the 6200, Dolphin 25 for £10 pm on an 18 month contract. I've still got a 6/8 weeks on my contract yet - I said no thanks.
