That's a good deal. I was offered the same package but the phone was £195 - to which he dropped to £95. My contract expires on 9th Feb - I'll try again nearer then. Did your Dad talk to retentions?

Well I think my dad is holding out for something better....as he still has 2 weeks left on his old contract..he has been told that he is in the top bracket. His bills range from £70-£100 per month and yes it was the retentions department.

  • i spoke to orange around 3 weeks ago.. my contract does not end till april. i was after what i could get so i called them and after the lady telling me for the third time that i was on a £25 pm contract and that i only have 400 mins and unlimited txt, i asked her what i would have to do to cancell as o2 were offering me more, she told me i could have a nokia slide (unsure of model) 800 mins and unlimited txt for £20, i rang back today and the lady i spoke to this time fobbed me off and told me the last woman didnt know what she was on about... Time for a change me thinks!
  • I was out of contract in October and was on a £25 a month contract. I rang up this week via retentions and managed to get:

    Blackberry Pearl 8120
    300 Minutes to mobiles
    130 texts
    unlimited calls to land lines
    Email & Internet bolt on

All for £15 a month on a eighteen month contract, is this anygood?

    Thanks

Anyone know if it is possible to keep my current contract running til it ends 27th of March and have new deal begin 28th of March but have phone from upgrade sent out earlier?

I have a cashback deal with mobiles.co.uk and can't change any account details for full contract otherwise becomes null and void...

My current contract is £35/month wanting to drop to £25/month... after the 18months but wanting my upgrade phone now.

Does that make sense? If so is it possible?

I'd phone Orange but spent 37 minutes on the phone to them the other day... majority on hold!

    Thanks

No. Your upgrade phone is part of the change of contract to £25 pm which will show on the bills for your cashback.

Wow- that is a good deal. What is your current tariff and how long have you been with them?

The best deal they can offer me is either:
the HTC Touch HD for £58
    750mins
    unlimited texts
    evening and weekend data
    for £35 per month.

(but unfortunately I need to use the phone during the day for data- so that would be £40 inc. the extra £5 per month)

or the HTC Touch HD for £108
    500mins
    unlimited texts
    evening and weekend data
    for £30 per month

thinks you need to callback, your top level & anyphone on a Panther plan should have computer saying yes, negotiate the best discount you can on current Panther 900 aswell per month, thinks you got a jobsworth as computer wouldnt be that unkind to top level customer! LOL

& up yourself to a higher Panther plan the following month....your bills should drop & your monthly discount carry over on new Panther plan

I got £20 off Dolphin 35 a month with no new handset in Aug 07, for last 6 months I moved that to Panther45 websave @ £40 - £20 = £20 for 1200 X mins & unlimited landlines ( no phone but with a extra 2000 mins bolt on its a bargain ) ie, £5 more doubled X mins & swapped unused unlimited texts to NOW overused landlines LOL ;)

Advice from me is use allocated " retention " money on same priceplan & handset upgrade then across/move up a priceplan - moving priceplan @ upgrade CAN effect offers as it takes some of your upgrade spend off you on Orange's computer - Jon will be able to elaborate on this for you
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Sounds like a good plan. I rang up again and told them i wanted my Pac and....nothing. They said it was the best deal, i said o2 give you this bolt on and that what can you give me....nothing. :(

I even said what can you offer me if i dont take the new handset and it was the same deal! just £5 off.

I would love to know how they work this stuff out.
