Orange Retention Offers

• I am coming to the end of a mobile and broadband joint contract with orange. To get unlimited 8MEG broadband for £5 a month i needed to be on a mobile contract of at least £35 a month so for that i had 600 any network/time minutes plus 400 text's. My mobile bill including VAT and itemised billing was usually £42 a month and I never used anything like that amount of minutes or texts.

My 18 months has just finished and I don't feel I am getting value for money, so i rang this morning looking for a better deal, they explained that if i paid for my land line through them with the same broadband deal they would charge me £17 then they could reduce my mobile contract to £15 and include 200 anytime/network minutes and unlimited text's with a new nokia 6300/6301/6500.

My land line is currently with BT and i pay £12 so that remains the same but i make a decent saving on my mobile bill and it seems a decent deal, what do people think?

Is there any issues with my land line through orange i should be aware of?

they said that the omnia was out of stock, and when it came back in stock it was going to be 'discontinued for upgrades'

Im gonna try again in a couple of weeks and escalate it to a supervisor and see if I have any more joy but she didnt seem willing to budge at all

Just get your PAC code, go to a Phones4U/Carphone warehouse and you'll be treated, even by Orange, as a new customer (and keep your number).

It seems to me that Orange have more than enough customers if they're happy to let existing ones leave so quickly and bitterly, so good luck to them.
• I phoned today as I wanted the Omnia and I was told that they were out of stock, and once they were back in only people who were waiting for them would be getting them, as they were going to be discontinued? Guy said it was something to do with the battery and a problem with the front switch? Anyone else heard this? My contract ends on Fri, so I phoned today and was offered 400 mins, unlimited texts and samsung Tocco for £20 a month (I pay £35 a month at the moment for 500 mins and unlimited texts). Is this a good deal or do you think I could push for more? Would like an Omnia if possible.

I'm 1 month to the end of my contract. I called to ask for my PUK code as I was extremely peeved with the customer service. 1st guy said no problem and said i could either disconnect or get a puk code. When i called back, the CSO asked why i was leaving. He then proceeded to tell me about Orange and all the changes. Then I was offered:

600 mins
Unlimited texts
Nokia 6600 (the phone isn't set as i wasnt sure what i wanted)
7.5mb data
The 1st 9 months @ £20, the remaining 9 @ £25 IINCLUSIVE of VAT.

He gave me his name, extension number, Team number and the name of his manager. All to try and keep me. Torn now, unsure if i should go for it!!

I got offered this yesterday and accepted straight away. The very cheapest ive seen elsewhere is 18 quid eff cost per mth.and thats after you've jumped thru hoops to get the cashback. The tocco is basically the same as Omnia with a slighly smaller screen and no fancy windows apps.

You can't transfer your number to the same network, if using a PAC code it has to go to a different network. (Well, i mean not simply anyway, there are long winded ways of doing it.)

Now im really annoyed - phoned to take them up on their offer of 400 mins, unlimited texts and free Tocco for £20 a month on 18 month contract only to be told that it is £25 a month now! It is exactly the same deal that is on their website for new customers!!! My contract ends today, but they obviously don't want to keep me as a customer so I have requested my PUC code

They are more likely I try to keep you once you are out of contract, I believe. My contract ended in September phoned up yesterday but the very nice lady on the phone offered me 600 minutes and unlimited texts for £15 pounds a month (18 month contract). They are sending me a Nokia 6500; not the best phone on offer, but I'm happy for the price. I was fully prepared to move to Three as the cashback offers aren't so hot these days, but in the end there was no need.
• My contract runs out at the end of this month. I called and was offered (18-month contracts):

No new phone:
£20 - 600 mins and unlimited texts
£15 - 300 mins and 100 texts

New Sony w890i:
£20 - 200 mins and unlimited texts
£20 - 300 mins, 100 texts and unlimited landline calls
£25 - 400 mins, 500 texts and unlimited orange-to-orange calls

Not sure any of these are quite what I'm after, but in case they're useful info for anyone else.
Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement
• They have also offered me the SE w890i for free - if taken with the 200mins / UL texts for £20 rate.

Still deciding what to do.......
