  • anyone managed to get the omnia out of them? the cs people seem to think they are faulty and being withdrawn, but that could be an excuse...

I managed to get an omnia from Orange on an upgrade - it took 5 weeks for it to become available. I wouldn't have got the phone had a certain set of rather fortuitous events not taken place. I am very lucky and received the omnia for free with a low monthly tariff - however that only occurred because of a series of problems that took place. It appears that only new customers were being supplied with the omnia and that no one else was able to access these 'direct channel' phones (that's what they told me anyway). I guess as time progresses and other new phones become available e.g. N96, the omnia supply will be opened to more upgrade customers.
The person I spoke to from Orange told me approximately 4 weeks ago that Orange were likely to discontinue the omnia; however it appears that hasn't arisen.
I have to say that the omnia is a great phone. If you are already used to / happy with the windows mobile environment, then you'll know how much flexibility surrounds this device. There are a couple of niggles with it, specifically in terms of usability, but I'd still give it 10 out of 10.
Hope you manage to get the phone. This is by far the best phone I've owned. If you like to get under the bonnet of the phone and get your hands dirty, you'll love the omnia.

My contract is up at the end of December and would really like to upgrade to the SE C905. Does anybody know if this will be out in time?

Hi, Been with orange for a few good years now. Ridiculous amount of spending tho, easily fifty a month, tho usualy 70-80.

Coming to the end of my contract in a few weeks, then ill go onto a rolling contract,

At the moment i;m getting as a loyalty reward 10quid off plus an extra 400 xnet minutes on top of anornal tariff.

So at the moment im paying 45 per month for 1600 mins and unlmited texts..plus magic numbes etc ( ic hanged to this halfway thru my cntractm previously i was paying 25quid a month for 900 mins any time any network and unlimited texts)

    phoned retentions a few times

    1) First guy said he could only offer me the same deal i had before, which really isnt that competitive once vat and that are added on. ANd also chage me 99quid for nokia n96

    2) 2nd person said she'd offer me 1800minutes xnet, unlimited texts for 50 a month (including vat). and a nokia n96 for 129.

Going to phone again i think and see what happens. Second person admitted that other netwroks are doing better deals for nokia n96 and that they sinmply can't match their deals.

apparently i will have more loyalty bonus once im out of contract tho.

    Any ideas on those deals...

You;d think these guys wud be offering great deals with credit crunch etc, but really not that impress.ed

once out of contract ask for Panther 45 direct web plan its £40 your paying the old £45 rate, £10 off & extra 400 mins

the N96 to upgrade from a N95 aint worth it, same phone SLIGHTLY better specs in a new shell not worth, consider a HTC Diamond which has been out for a few months
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Does anyone know if it's possible get a Nokia E71 from Orange? I'm due an upgrade shortly, spoke to upgrades about this phone on Dolphin 20 and they told me the E71 was only currently available to Orange business customers, which I'm not. So, since they obviously can physically supply the phone, would it be possible to get this if I ask for my PAC and get through to retentions?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

You can call them up to a month before your contacts up, but you won't get such a good deal as waiting until it almost up. When's your end date ?

Well you can't leave until your contracts up any way unless you buy yourself out (ie pay the line rental up to the contract end date). So you don't have any leverage with them...
Whats the problem the service ?
