Try anyway, it'd be interesting to see if they say the same to you too.0 -
My current 18 month contract with Orange is due to expire in October. I currently pay £35 a month for 500 anytime mins and unlimited texts. Do I wait for them to contact me or shall I ring them and see what they are prepared to offer? I really fancy an Omnia. What sort of deal should I hold out for?MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. i didn't have an omnia on principle agreement, I had an N95 8gb which i refused. The first time orange ever heard of my interest in an omnia was at 9.40 this morning when the upgrade dept offended me with an offer of a £199 upgrade. I then cancel but rephoned up to confirm details about my pac code and spoke to the people in disconnections (maybe same as retentions) who then tried to get me to pay £49 for it but after telling them i could get it free from voda for a contract of around £30-£35 they then offered a better deal. I was honest and friendly with them and they in turn gave me excellent service (well, not the cow in upgrades)
Someones been telling you porkies stevie0 -
I think they were just mugging you off stevie,
I didn't do my omnia deal until about 2.30 yesterday, its worth a quick ring to check with the disconnection team. Dial 150, option for phone, option for 'follow up disconnection request' and just say that your making sure that the pac code is being sent or sumin.
Worth a go dude0 -
I have been offered following tariff
- Free Samsung Omnia(16 GB)
- 18 month contract
- Racoon 25 (300 minutes, 100 text, Unlimited landline)
- 20 pound a month
I asked them if they can make it 15 pound per month. They can but asked
89.99 for phone. Don't know if it's a good offer or not. Vodafone is doing a 12 month contract with free phone for 35 pounds per month.(and 90 pound quidco cashback).
Any suggestions ??0 -
if you can get by on those minutes/txt then go for it.
You might wanna invest in an internet bundle as well for playing around with.
I've got mine in front of me but waiting for the registration txt's to come through ...... Grrrrrrr... i wanna play0 -
guys the Omnia is always £199
when they say £30 per month for 1200 mins, 500 text, internet etc.
is they give you the contract for £20 per month then divide the hanset cost over 18months (£11) and add it on.
i've seen the Omnia for £20 per month, 600 mins and unlimited text. The contract is normally £10-£15 through the retentions department.
I also recommend calling a few times till you get a good advisor in retentions. Sometimes people don't know what they're talking about
I'm considering the £30 option....0 -
Well, 1 year ago i was offered a K850i on a 1 year deal, 500 mins to any network, unlimited texts, 5mb data free, 2gb memory card and a £5 'loyalty discount', bringing my priceplan to £30 per month.
I'm due to renew my contract soon, but i certainly won't be. First of all, the 'loyalty bonus', was a limited time only... it ran out after 6 months. For some reason my contract didn't activate until a month after I ordered it... meaning i had a 70 quid phone bill. I have asked, 3 times now, for my billing to be non-itemised (as I dont want to pay for it). guess what? STILL itemised. Orange treats their customers terribly and are no help whatsoever.0
