tried again today with Orange retentions for Samsung Omnia but they are just not coming up with any good offer. Actually couldn't even give me the offer they were giving two days ago (Racoon 25 for 20/- per month) so I have requested PAC code.
Vodafone is giving this phone free (8GB version) on a 12 month contract for 35/- per month (500 minute, 100 text) with 90/- pound cashback from quidco. That sounds good to me.0 -
Omnia or I Phone?

1st go at seeing what they would offer me as i'm out of contract was
18month Contract
Free Samsung Omnia
Canary 30 package @ £25/month
500mins
400 texts
£7.50 data package
Total £32.50/month
Package total cost = 18 * £32.50 = £585
That sucks balls so i'll try again when i get home, fair play to the geordie on the end of the phone he was friendly enough but his offer was crap!0 -
Had an unsolicited call from Orange today offering:
850 mins
600 texts
"unlimited" calls to landline free (3000mins ceiling)
"unlimited" orange to orange free
15MB (I *think*)
18 months contract
Free blackberry 8320 or Samsung G600.
£32 pm. Can reduce it by £5 for a 24 month contract.
but I had to do the deal "there and then". I didn't know what the phones were like so I wanted to drop into the Orange shop to take a look. They said they would call me back but didn't, so I guess the offer has gone now - thought it might be a good starting point when phoning the retensions department.
Does that seem like a good deal?0 -
2nd attempt call i got through to some useless muppet who was clearly 5 mins from the end of his shift who said phone was £199 and contract would be £45
total package cost = £199 + 18*£45 = £1009!!!!
then later that evening i phoned again and got
18month contract
400mins
500 texts
unlimited orange to orange
unlimited data
samsung Omnia £119
£20/month
total package cost £119 + 18*£20 = £4790 -
Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded with Orange. I was on £25 p/m ( cant remember how many mins/texts). After hearing that my younger sister managed to get 300 mins with unlimited texts for £7 per month.
I wanted the U900, with a low line rental. They said no, and offered me 250 mins, unlimited texts for £10 per month (18 mths contract) with the new Samsung U800. Although its not the best deal, compared to others who have posted, I agreed.
I think its who you get on the day!!0 -
Sorted my bro's deal today speaking in a deep tone,
500 Mins
100 txt
unlimted landline
Free Broadband 2mb catch is that monthly limit is (2GB)
Free U900 Soul Black
£10 a month for 18 months
Did get offered an omnia last week for £20 then they changed their mind! Orange = French Telecom0 -

htc touch diamond
600 mins
unlimited texts
250 megs of data
all fo 30 quid. (my current plan is dolphin 35)
I said if they got it down to 25 I would take it. (i kept harping on about 5 quid more and I can get an iphone and unlimited data etc etc). The guy said he couldn't go that low. so said goodbye. do the offers get better the closer they get to termination or when I call for PAC no.?
Thanks to all the posters here for the current information. I'm about to renegotiate a deal with Orange and hopefully it'll help me....so giving back to you, here's what I got told by an Orange operator a couple of weeks ago.
I'd been called Orange about 2 months before my contract was due to end, but they caught me at the checkouts in Tesco so I asked what it was for before I cut them off...it was a 'courtesy call' about an upgrade. I said "not right now" and forgot about them.
Then I called a couple of weeks ago to see about a deal when my contract ends...a very nice lady explained that the call I received earlier was a poor attempt at hooking me in for another term with a not so good deal.
So I moved onto what I would like, now I was coming to the end of my current deal.
I'm basically after an Omnia on the shortest, cheapest contract I can get. I got told that I was on a pretty good deal now (I got an N95 for free and a 25 quid a month contract with a tenner discount for the length of the contract, 12 months) and all the computer was showing was deals with the Omnia set to cost me 150 or 250 quid, depending on the contract length. I expressed disatisfaction with the offer and was told that my best date to call back would be the date my contract ended (tomorrow actually). Apparently the best deals "Peak" on the day your contract ends....call too early or leave it too late and the deals get worse. Hope this helps.0 -
Hello all,
My first post in these forums!
I've trawled through this thread and looked at the articles on the main site regarding getting the best deal for my mobile phone. However, I still feel a little confused and more importantly, not confident enough to be able to ring up and come away with something that I wanted.
I have been on an 18 month contract with orange for 600 mins and unlimited texts at £35 a month with cashback bringing it down to about £20-25. I don't use anywhere near as much as these figures anymore and am sick of jumping through hoops to get the cashback.
Ideally I want around 400mins 500 texts and unlimited internet browsing on something like the Omnia, N95, htc diamond or similar.
I would be so appreciative of anyone who could give me a little help as to what I can quote, and what I should say in order for me to get the best deal from orange.
Cheers.
P.s if anyone can recommend similar deals on other networks I am not adverse to changing!0
