Anyone had any luck yet with the blackberry bold?
I really want this phone now (Returned the tocco.. not much of a phone!)
I'm unsure how easy they are to play with blackberrys though, also don't forget they now offer free ipod touch's when you take a new phone out online, try and get that in??
You wont get a free iPod Touch with a retention deal as you have to spend £35 on a talkplan. It cant be an original £35 talkplan that has been reduced either. Plus the applicable phones are not top of the range.
Anyone got an Omnia yet, just wondered what it's like? Some days you're the bird......and some days you're the statue :cool:0 -

I've had a play with one at the Orange shop this week, trying to decide if I want it.
I like it. A lot.0 -
Just upgraded for my wife
750 minutes
Unlimited texts
Free evening/weekend data
Free HTC diamond
£20 a month
They also offered
1200 minutes
500 texts
Unlimited data
Free HTC Diamond
£25 a month
I doubt she'll use the data, in fact she won't use the phone as she's happy with her old SPV handset, so all in all £25 a month saved for more minutes/texts.0 -
Rejected oranges offer today. they called me. my contract runs out in Oct. They offered (after a while)
htc touch diamond
600 mins
unlimited texts
250 megs of data
all fo 30 quid. (my current plan is dolphin 35)
I said if they got it down to 25 I would take it. (i kept harping on about 5 quid more and I can get an iphone and unlimited data etc etc). The guy said he couldn't go that low. so said goodbye. do the offers get better the closer they get to termination or when I call for PAC no.?0 -
Well when I spoke to a CSA again today, she advised me that i'd be much better off upgrading when I'm actually out of contract as they'd have more 'points' to play with giving me a better deal!
She said I could get Dolphin 25 (200min, unli texts) for £5 or £10 depending on what the offers are at the time. I couldn't argue with that so going to phone up in October!0 -

does everyone just talk to the cs rep or do they ask for retentions?
my contract runs out next week0 -
Speak to CS first (see what they are offereing) and then always ask to speak to Retentions. When they put you through say that you are 'thinking' of leaving Orange, you're very interested in the iPhone and the deal that CS has offerred is very poor. Dont bother if you are still in contract, as their hands are tied. If you get a poor member of the Retentions team, just call back another time.
They will always push the HTC Diamond as a replacement for the iPhone. Unless you only want a phone dont go for the Diamond. Build quality is quite cheap and the phone is a bit of a gimmick to be honest. Only good as a phone as you cant expand the memory. If you want something that can compete with the iPhone go for the Samsung Omnia. Screen resolution is poor in comparrison to the iPhone but it has it beat in other areas. Some days you're the bird......and some days you're the statue :cool:0 -
I got through to retentions today and agreed the following:
18 Month Contract
600 minutes
Unlimited Texts
Free Samsung Omnia
Retain magic numbers
£20
I was originally on 900 mins/Unlimited texts for £35 a month. With only ever using around 300 mins per month max I think this is an OK deal?0 -
