Orange Retention Offers

I pointed out that I could go to another network and keep the same number, and still get the phone for free, hoping that would prompt them to offer me the phone for free, and was told that yes leaving them would be another option!
your best bet is going through retentionsYes Your Dukeiness0 -
...
Typically you pay £80 for the N95 (the one I want), with £30 line retal for 18 months, total cost of contract is £620
The best offer according to 1compare was free phone, £22 odd monthly line rental (with complicated cashback system from phones2door website that every1 advises against) for one year.
Was polite, friendly and explained the reasons for leaving (according to martin and other posters!) ...
You certainly got a great deal, well done. I'm about to try something similar, although I'm not nearly such a heavy user.
It would interest me to know how you approached Orange Retentions - did you mention that you'd found a better contract elsewhere? If so, did you mention that it was with a possibly-dodgy-online-claim-your-discount contract reseller?
Do you think it makes a difference who you talk to at Orange Retentions? Might it be worth ringing back a couple of times in the hope of talking to someone at the call centre who happens to be in a good mood??£2 coin savers club: £1.49

MY PAYG Orange sim arrived today so I have just phoned Orange up to activate it and I naively thought they might offer me a deal to stay on contract. Basically they just registered the sim and my contract was terminated within 4 minutes of making the call, no retention deal at all was offered and I didn't even get a thank you for being a loyal customer for 3 years.
I actually asked the girl why existing customers were not being retained and she agreed it seemed daft.
So, tomorrow apparently I can have a PAC code on the PAYG Sim and I'm off..where shall I take my custom? decisions decisions...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. ^the dept you would have spoken to is unlikely to have been retentions you may get a call in the next few days as youve actually carried out your threatYes Your Dukeiness0

I'm seething here, phoned 150 from my new PAYG to speak to customer services about getting my PAC code and I am unable to use the service unless I top up a minimum of £10..so I have to pay £10 just to speak to customer services to get a pAC to leave them. Tried a landline number from my home phone but as soon as i put in my phone number it cuts me off.
So I have a PAYG sim with no apparent 'free' way of getting my PAC code..anyone have any other numbers that might help me get through?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Nope they won't talk to me either and say I must top up and phone 450 from my mobile. I hassled them a bit and they finally gave me a landline number 07973100450 and I am now on hold...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just remembered if you register you get a pound credit which will give you enough to get hold of them.0 -
calling 450 you have to have at least 20p credit to speak to someone but there should be £1 on there from when you registered, so theres that or orange store, or call 07973100450 (standard CS number for paug) from a mobby, dont know why they said you had to top up £10 the minimum is £5Yes Your Dukeiness0
