I called up 343 last night and was offered a pathetic 700mins, 100 texts, unlimited landline calls and any phone free for £25.
I was told that I was a Band 3 customer, but I haven't got a clue what that means.
I've been with Orange since the start and Im out of contract. Retentions Department here I come...................Some days you're the bird......and some days you're the statue :cool:0 -
similar problem to you, althought i havent really started negotiating with orange yet, but looking for at least 600 mins and unlimited texts would be nice, plus the unlimited browsing for £25.00 a month, i thought i'd wait until they have the blackberry bold which is out soon, plus as it will be near my end of contract (same as you october) then they might be more inclined to want to keep me, not sure what band of cutomer i am, but been with them for about three years so it might be higher and therefore give me a bit more leverage.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

I upgraded (or should I say retained!) today to following on an 18 month contract.
Free HTC Touch Diamond
20 pounds per month
500 minutes, 100 Texts, unlimited landline minutes
(basically Racoon 30 tariff)
I know some people got 700 minutes for that price but as I hardly used
30 - 40 minutes per month last year, they were not giving anything better.
I'm happy.
My existing 4 magic numbers are still good to use, and there are a further 4 (at 0, 6, 12, 18 months) during this contract - really can't see me getting anywhere near the call and download limits at all.
.... however was just wondering if anyone could please tell me what sort of usage would take me close to 250MB/month?
- thx, Krish0 -
I have been offered:
400 minutes
Unlimited texts
W910i free
Broadband (was already subscribing to it)
for £15 per month. My 18 month contract @ £30 has just finished.
Does that sound like a good deal? I said I would think about it. Should I go for the 10% loyalty discount as well?? Do you have to ask to keep your magic numbers?0 -
I held out this long to wait for a 3G iphone when I normally buy 1st generation apple products and regret it later. And now my orange contract is up in September, so I phoned them to ask for my PAC.
And the guy asks why I am leaving, and I tell him I want an iphone. He tries to flog me the Samsung f480, I insist I am leaving. and then....
He offers me 500 mins and 500 texts and a free f480 with additional 8gig memory card and bluetooth headset for £5 a month!
Apparently it is because I have been with them for so many years.
So here is my dilemma: I still want the iphone. I don't want the f480. But is there a way I can take this deal, and also get an iphone, port my number, and keep this amazing deal with a new number? I could let a family member use it or something. I mean, this is a seriously good offer,
I am looking for creative way to play this situation. any ideas?

currently on £25 a month for 500 mins and 500 texts.
phoned today to get PAC so I can go for an iphone.
They offered me an F480 and the same mins and texts for FIVE POUNDS per month.
Blimey! No idea what to do now. I want the iphone!0 -
As far as I know you can't port your number like that.
You could possibly get a new number for this deal, and have a new number yourself on o2 x0 -
yeah that's what I thought. It's annoying.
The only other though I had was to take the deal, and try to get free data thrown in too, and then get an unlocked iphone, and ebay the samsung... But have they unlocked the G3 iPhone yet, and how / where can I get that?
Anyone got any other ideas?0 -
First time on this board so go easy lol!
I'm in an orange contract - £25 a month for a Samsung E840 200texts and 200 minutes and unlimited texts between 6pm and 6am. I really want to reduce my mobile contract to £15 if possible but am tied until Feb 09 (I'm told).
However, I as told to go to Phones4U who can get me out of the contract and into one with them (new phone and better package for me ie cheaper and more minutes/texts). Any advice on this and dealing with Phones4U.MSE-ing since 20070
