hi, quick question, i want to upgrade to the blackberry pearl, am thinking about the £45 tariff that come with unlimited web browsing, looking at the orange website it looks like i will still need the blackberry add on to get my emails which is an extra 8 quid or so, anyone have an experience with getting this for free?0

you wont get it free but you will get a reduction on Panther45 "websave" - £40
if you get it for say £30, then you will be £37.50 for all in
BB plans revenue are shared by network/Blackberry so discount on it is a no go, but O can discount your priceplan no probs
The Pearl has new software so update your BB as soon as you get it & it will stream internet sitesSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
hi
I was on a waiting list , ring retentions and if they haven't gt in stock they will put you on the waiting list , as soon as it will be in stock they will keep 1 handset for you for 24 hours , they will text you to cinfirm that its in stock so you need to give them a ring in 24 hours to get hold of your reserved one.
I hope it will helpHi
That sounds like a pretty reasonable deal to me - I'd be more than happy with it anyway!
One question - do they have the HTC Diamond in stock? I've called 3 times now in an attempt to get that phone as an upgrade, and each time have been told that it's not in stock, nor is it likely to be in until mid-August.
I think I might give retentions another call to see if I can get me a deal like yours!0 -
My HTC Diamond, on a new retention package is finally on it's way !!!! (according to the progress on the courriers website) !
Like Evil, i've been phoning/waiting for ages for this to come in .... after being told differing stories about availiablity, I was added to the notification email list, and then finally I noticed it was in stock yesterday lunchtime when I looked at the website.
I called retentions straight away and ended up signing up to the following - Panther 45 (would have been £45p/m) - 1200mins, 500 texts, unlimited land line, unlimited mobile data, answerphone, retain my magic numbers - for £25 p/m 18 months, the HTC Diamond has cost me £44.99.
I had'nt actually received the "in-stock" text, so in my call it took some persuasion to get them them do it there and then! I was 2 days out of my contract and they could see that i'd called almost a month ago to give notification of cancelling/requesting my PAC code - so in my circumstances I guess they could see that they genuinly could have risked loosing me as a customer as I was out of contract.
I'm quite pleased with the deal, just got to see what the phones like when it arrives!

Might be worth mentioning for anyone who's negoitioning with orange .... I was offered a Blackberry curve on the Panther 45 for £25 + £7.50 p/m.
(Regarding the Pearl (IMHO), the keyboard is horrible to use - I have one for work and would prefer to log onto my PC to send emails, IMHO - you may want to look at a blackberry with a full keyboard)0 -

Ive currently got the Orange retention deal that gives me 2000 extra x-net minutes. I pay £35 for dolphin and get a total of 2650 minute and unlimited texts.
Ive been offered 2 deals:
Panther 45
1000 extra rentention minutes
= 2200 x-net minutes
500 texts
unlimited data
free htc diamond
£40 per month
Panther 55
1000 extra rentention minutes
= 2800 x-net minutes
500 texts
unlimited data
free htc diamond
£50 per month
I need as many miutes as possible, but it seems its either retention minutes or line rental discount. Ive been told I have £300 of discounts available.
Any advice?0 -
As far as i know you can not take both offers , what i mean is either u use your loyality reward to take the discount on line rental or use it to get extra minutes.
So if you are looking to take the discount on line rental as per my calculation you will get 15 pounds per month off , So if you go for dolphin 35 for example you will be paying 15 pounds a month
Secondly when you go on higher price plans it uses more of your loyality reward.
The best thing to do is that if you are looking to get the same standard tariff minutes , stay on dolphin 35 , get the discount applied to your account and after that you can move to higher tariff at any time , so you will get the maximuj discount on your current tariff , as explained by one of my friends who was working for retentions.
Now the choice is yours what you wanna take,
But as far as minutes are concerned you are getting good minutes because orange stopped doing the loyality reward extra minutes , so you are getting a good deal if you really want as much minutes.

What am I doing wrong then?!? I've phoned several times and have yet to be put through to someone who seems even vaguely bothered about 'retaining' my custom. The last time I phoned (on Saturday), I went straight through to disconnections, who gave me my PAC code without discussion. I'm assuming that I have accrued a few loyalty points, having been an Orange customer for 10 years or so, and having an average monthly bill of £45.
Any tips?0
