Orange Retention Offers

Hmm, agreed a new deal with Orange about 3 weeks ago as i'm out of contract but they didn't have the phone i wanted, HTC Touch Diamond.
I was offered Dolphin 35 for £20/month back then, now they want £25.
Woman i spoke to was lovely, couldn't fault her but little bit annoyed. I've been paying full contract for nearly a month to find out i can't have the offer that i was waiting for, so more money all round.
Still a good deal?
edit: looking at star1's post, perhaps not...
Edit2: Disregard the above, called back for second time today ready to negotiate harder but no need. Guy just said, yeah, £20 a month but phone will be £4.99, I couldn't be bothered to argue0 -
I have the HTC Diamond .... and oh my world!! It is driving me !!!!!!!' nuts and o/h has had to physically restrain me 'cos for the first time in 18 yrs of using mobile phones I have actually wanted to beat the living daylights out of a phone!!
:mad:It's not for me at all
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
I received my PAC code in the post yesterday morning, and retentions called me in the evening. I've been offered:
600 minutes (anytime, cross network)
unlimited texts
unlimited data
FREE HTC Diamond
for £20 pcm
Don't know/don't care about magic numbers as I don't call anyone who's on Orange, so this suits me fine. I even had a text at 7:30 this morning saying that my phone had been dispatched.
Happy now. Phew!0 -

I went for:
Panther 45
1000 extra rentention minutes
= 2200 x-net minutes
500 texts
unlimited data
free htc diamond
£40 per month
ITs worth asking if they can leave the loyalty discount of 10% on there, the 1st person said no, and the 2nd person said yes,
So that works out @ £36 pm.0 -

Diamond arrived by courier this morning thankfully! I was a bit concerned that Orange's stock issues of late may have delayed its arrival. It's a fantastic phone, and comes with a leatherette case (more moneysaving!), and mercifully it's free of any irritating Orange software branding. Presumably the Orange-branded version will be out shortly as the manual is written for it.

Thanks EvilSheep ... I haven't used a windows mobile phone before and I'm not sure whether I should persevere or notI like phones that make phone calls easily at the 'push' of a 'button' and IMO, this is waaaaaay more complicated than my old one.
So far the only things I like are the bubble game and when the windscreen wipers come out when it's raining
I'm 60/40 at the moment. Probably would be more keen to keep it if I had the patienceand time to learn to use the phone properly.I can say whatever I like here ... Phoned up Orange and asked fort PAC number, tyhey asked why and I said I was getting an iphone.
They said I had to pay up the contract, I said fine and they took my details.
No offer what so ever..... Last time I did this they beat the best possible deal for the n95 there was....
Is this a new ploy (i.e. make offers only once people have recieved the PAC?) or was the fact I had three months left on the contract the decidiing factor?
Not really bothered as I have the iphone and need to transfer the number across, just thought they would have put up a fight for my business "I don't want to sound cold and un-caring, but I am those things so that's the way it comes out" - Bill Hicks0 -

Same here - after 13 years with Orange they've just given me my PAC code without a bye nor leave..
I rang them back to speak with a supervisor, as I had been offered quite a good deal a week or so back but had been in Australia and couldn't take it up while there.
He said I could have called from Australia!!!! He said that you can call Orange Customer Service free from anywhere in the world and that you can call Premier Customers Line on 343; both things I didn't know as I've never been told before...
4 people (the number I was transferred to) also said that as of 0000 today (01 Aug) ALL Orange tarifs have had "unlimited browsing/data" dropped and they now charge £7.50 a month for the privilege.
When I said to the Supervisor that I surely my 13 years of loyalty meant something he said quite blatantly "that means nothing...."!!!
With that kind of attitude they really don't dseserve loyalty...
Oh, and as I called on my "billing date" I wouldn't be able to change my contract now until 01 September so will have to pay full price for a month. All in all the deal I was offered a few days ago is now £100 DEARER!
I've written to Vice President, Customer Services but I won't hold my breath...0
