I'm not a high spender anymore but I was adamant I wanted a good deal so I disconnected my line and kept calling retentions every day.

I was given different offers on every call which got considerable worse and worse. On the fourth call I had a go at them for their dreadful offers - an example being £449 for the Note 3 and £17 a month for 24 months!

Eventually they offered me this £12.89 for 24 months
    with 900 minutes
    unlimited texts
    500 MB internet

with a choice of phones: -

£49.99 for the Samsung S4 or
£129 for the Samsung Note 3.

Suffice to say I picked the Note 3.

    Persistence is the key!

Did you manage to get a deal?

I want a 16GB 5s but the retention department don't seem to be bothered about holding onto their customers. I am spending between £90 to £100 a month so getting a new deal has always been an easy task, my last deal was a 16GB iphone 5 for free with 800 minutes, unlimited text and 1GB data for £27/month. I don't think I am going to get anything close to that this year.

Current offer which apparently has a 15% discount:
    Grey 16GB 5s
Unlimited minutes and text on 4G
    5GB data
    £45
  • no havent tried yet that doesnt sound too bad though free phone?

After much 'badgering' got: 500mins, unlimited texts and landline calls and just under 2GB of data for £23 and an LG G2, great phone btw.
  • Due to upgrade end of next month and have never tried 'retentions'. Been with Orange for aprox 5 years on contract and at least another 3 before that on pay as you go. Just wondering if someone can tell me what I am likely to achieve and how to get through to retentions?
    House purchased November 2013
    Original MF Date: January 2045 - £104,400
    Current MF Date: April 2030- £48,719. 75

    Call 150

    Then press 1,4,1,1 for retentions

Ideally I'd like some sort of Samsung phone - pref a big screened one

Currently have a S2 from when I last upgraded
  • Been with Orange for about 5 years, contract ends mid Jan.
Spend about £20/month. Unlimited calls, texts, 500mb on a Wildfire S.

Offered S3 mini, 24 months, 600 mins, unlimited texts and 250mb £21.99/month plus one off £9.99

Phone is OK but think Orange can do better.

Anyone got any deals better than this?
    Thanks, Bob
  • Called up today as my 18mth contract is coming to an end next week. I'm after a sim only deal this time and they could only offer me the same deals that are on the bloody website! :(
