well if there's no nano sim thats a bit of a problem, my wife on the virgin network on the same deal & if the phone goes in and out of service area i.e. tunnel..you have to turn the phone on & off before it will pick the network up again even after a hour...i don't think any piggyback network is the same as the original...Giff Gaff always seem's to be one bar behind O2....imo

Not reconnecting to the network sounds more like a phone issue than a network one - have you tried the sim in another phone and checked whether it still happens?

the Wifes phones a iPhone 4s unlocked & never had the problem on T-mobile when she was on contract & it also works fine with my orange sim...if anything the phone sounds a lot clearer on Virgin than it did on T-mobile...

its probably a mixture of setting or something....Anyway the deals offered by Orange sim only 12 month contracts

    500 mins
    unlimited texts
100mb of data for £10 per month, which is not enough data for me

    2000 mins
    unlimited texts
    500 mb of data £16

now that is enough data for me I'm about 350mb per month,a nano sim not a cut down micro & a orange Wednesday used about once a month..it worked out ok for me...

Well I got everything agreed on my upgrade and then when the guy tried to put the upgrade through yesterday he found that the Ascend P1 was no longer available on the system (ended on the 30th April!). So backup was to find one in a local store and he'd save the deal on the system for them to put through. He even gave me his email address in case there as any problems.

Thankfully got a few EE shops in my local area and managedto find one with one in stock, got it put aside for picking up. Went in and the guy in store cant see the same price and hence couldn't do it for the agreed price.

Emailed the Upgrades guy who phoned me back but although he's certain if he can speak to the guy in the store they will do it, I'm not so sure. Still he's given me his personal mobile number so its worth a shot.

My back up is to try and get the store to sell me the handset for the upgrade price and get the contract from the upgrades dept.......... This better be worth the effort

Finally got something sorted last night. couldn't get the Ascend P1 from the store on the retention deal as they couldn't get it through the system.

    Anyway this is the deal:

    18 month contract
    400 mins
    300 texts
    500 Mb data
    unlimited landlines

    £6.98 / month

    Sony Xperia J - £80

Total cost including handset is about £11/month

Can't complain as original offer was only 200 mins and £16.98/month!

And going by the recent sales on Ebay i could probably sell the Xperia and buy the Ascend for about the same money.

So if you are looking for a deal, don't get put off f you don't get a decent offer, just keep phoning back until you get something!

Well, I've been ringing Orange since 14th March trying to get a retention deal and its FINALLY COME GOOD TODAY!!!!

I've been on unlimited landlines for years on my contract, but struggled with x network mins and texts, they have previously refused to even give me 100 extra texts a month to keep me, but today I've finally spoken to someone with some sense.

    Gone from

    Unlimited landline
    300 mins x network
    100 texts
    (no internet)

    to

    Unlimited landline
    600 mins x network
    1100 texts
    500 mb internet
    Blackberry upgrade

I'm well pleased, £18 per month, well done orange for finally attempting to keep a loyal customer of 20 odd years, shame it took you so long.

Contract ended 2 days ago, I was on 300 mins, unltd txts, 500mb internet. I wanted 12mth sim only as I'm happy with the phone

Phoned yesterday - normal 'upgrades' people could only do the normal website deal but double the minutes to 4000 :rotfl: for £16

Phoned again - asked retentions for PAC code, got offered the normal tmobile website deal but the guy said he could do it for £13 instead of £15.50 (err yeah that's what their website says aswell, not really an offer is it...) so got my PAC code

Today I got a phone call, told them I was going to tesco for £10 for 500mins, 5000 txts, 1gb data. After checking with his manager he offered me:

    1000 mins
    Unlimited txts
    1.25Gb data

    £6 a month

    Yaaaaay, finally :T
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard

Anyone got any good retention deals on the S4? I've been offered (online at the moment via my account), Handset for £99.99, with the Works 37 package - this, with my loyalty discount comes to £29.60/month (vat inclusive) for unlimited texts and minutes, wifi and a swapable. Anyone got a Free handset at this monthly cost level?
