I have about 1 month and a half left with orange but im not staying..
Contracts are pointless these days with some of the PAYG deals about with networks like GiffGiaff.. I currently spend around £26-30 a month on a 24 month contract... im looking at buying a SGS2 on ebay or something, root & unlock it (Extremely easy to do) and put a GiffGaff sim in it. GiffGaff are offering:
For £10 a month get:
250 UK minutes
Unlimited UK texts
1GB internet
Free to giffgaff
For £12 a month get:
250 UK minutes
Unlimited UK texts
Unlimited internet
Free to giffgaff
For £15 a month get:
400 UK minutes
Unlimited UK texts
Unlimited internet
Free to giffgaff
My housemate uses the £15 a month goodybag in his Iphone 4s and never has an issue...0 -
Wondering what anyone has been offered for the Samsung galaxy s3 recently? Looking to call orange soon - contract expires in a little over a month.
I wouldn't hold your breath. I spent about £55 PCM and when I asked for my PAC code they offered my barely better than the deals on the website. I asked them to match offers I had seen with other providers and got an outright "no".

Just been on the phone to retentions to see what they can offer me since my contact expired in March. been a customer with them since 1994
Wasn't really interested in a new phone since I have my iphone 4s
So was offered the following
900 any time minutes no expiry
unlimited texts no expiry
2GB anytime data - slowed to 15kbps when it runs out no charge for going over
unlimited landlines bundle
BT wifi hotspot access Fair usage 3GB per month
30 day sim only
total Monthly cost £4.58
Thought this was a cracking deal so took it.0 -

Wow that's an amazing deal, well done. I tried to get a decent sim only deal from them and failed.
How much we're you spending a month prior to that?0 -
Can I ask, my 24 month contract ends in 80 days do I cancel around the 30 day mark, on the 30 day mark?
Also I get a 25% discount for working for the local council, will I get this with a sim only deal?
Thanks0 -

You can submit your 30 days notice FROM 30 days before the end of your contract, not before.
I imagine you would get the 25% discount, i imagine it would only be on a standard sim only price tho, not IF they offer you any firther discounts for renewing.0 -
Hi guys anyone had much luck with orange renewals recently?
I've currently got a HTC desire HD £23 Month, 500mb, unlimited texts 600mins.
Not sure if I want / need a new phone - any recommendations to something similar I've already got. If I don't get a new one I'm thinking SIM only - do they do better deals than advertised online? My contract ends on 6th FebSaph

Called Orange on Friday as i am now into my last 30 days.
The woman was very friendly and said she would try her best.
The best they had to offer for a Windows OS phone (I want to move from Android to a Windows OS) was a HTC 8S on my current tariff (200 mins, unlimited texts, 500MB data) reduced to £20.50.
I told her what i could get from Tesco for £15 a month (Free Nokia Lumia 800) and what the deal was (500 mins, 5000 texts, 500MB data) and she said they wouldnt be able to get near it. Ill also get free tesco broadband whereas at the moment i am paying Orange £7.50 a month for this.
Needless to say she gave me the PAC code0 -
Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am really wanting to get out of my Orange contract which doesnt end until 12/12/13 so have just under a year to go. Thank you:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j0

You can cancel it, but you will need to pay a termination fee, usually about 75% + of the remaining months, so will be pretty expensive I'm afraid.
(although you could sell your existing handset to recoop some of the cost?)
Orange used to offer upgrades when 3 months was remaining on the contract, but now that's six weeks, so you won't be eligable to upgrade until 31/10/2013.
I'm not too sure about companies "buying you out". I think Phones4U offer some kind of service along these lines, but I expect you will need to wait until you have about 3 months left. They won't touch you with a year left, that would be way too expensive for them.
I understand you "really want out" of your contract, but unfortunately you signed a legal and binding contract and can't get out of it penalty free, just because you are bored of your handset and fancy a new one (which is what I'm guessing has happened here?)0
