Is it worth ringing now to see what they can offer?
Your upgrade date is 6 weeks before this I think (30th December), so you can try then BUT you will get the best deal from them if you call 30 days before this to get your PAC Code and request a cancellation, so worth hanging on.0 -
Well my upgrade date arrived (6 weeks before my minimum term ends) and I called up to see what they could offer me. Not surprisingly it wasn't much, same deals as per new customers and they wouldn't match deals I had seen with other networks.
I said I would call back in 2 weeks when I could arrange cancellation of the contract and request my PAC code, we'll see if they can offer me anything between then, if not ill be going to giff gaff or virgin.0 -
I called Orange this morning to cancel my daughter's contract. Currently has iPhone 4 on a tariff that includes 750MB data but she needs far more than that. T-Mobile have an unlimited data £36 tariff which would be just right for her. You'd think now they're all called EE that they'd be able to offer an upgrade to that unlimited tariff but no, all they could do was slag off other companies, even their own. T-mobile, "no provider offers unlimited data, read the small print, its 3GB". They had nothing to say when I said T-Mobile's web site used that specific word, unlimited, just repeated the small print comment.
This is what they had to say about 3 when I said I'd looked at their deals, "9 out of 10 handsets are reconditioned because they don't have a direct contract with Apple", "they cut you off or slow you down after 500MB" and "they use our network and we cut them off when we are busy".
Such excellent CS from Orange that my other 2 contracts will be leaving them as soon as possible and I won't be going to T-M.
Note : I appreciate there really is no such thing as unlimited data unless I pay a fortune for it but even T-M's 3GB allowance is 4 times that of Orange and cheaper than the current contract. I have yet to check what 3 mean by all-you-can-eat data.0 -
Hi, My mother in law is due an upgrade in Feb. Shes been with orange for at least last 6 years but a lot longer. She is after Nokia Lumia 920, Before i go to shops with her - i would like to know what Orange can offer her. She would like £20/month contract, 600 minutes and at least 1gb data.0

No chance, I'd bet my house on it .
The length of time she has been with orange is irrelevant. They are interested in how much money she ha made them, that is, how much does she "overspend" on top of her basic package cost each month? If its not a lot then I wouldn't expect much in the way of a discounted package - even if she is a high over spender, her wish list still seems pretty unrealistic I'm afraid, the 920 is a brand new, top of the range phone.
You can always ask but I wouldn't be expecting more than about a £5 PCM loyalty discount off the usual upgrade deals that they offer I store or online.0 -

I got my brand new iPhone direct from Three, so that part is nonsense.
The One Plan on Three is genuinely unlimited, and I don't get any throttling at all despite using 10gb+ in a month.
Excellent speeds (5-10mb download), and can tether if needed.0 -
I called up today saying my contract is coming to an end, what have you on offer.
She offered me a Samsung S3 with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB data for £41 a month. She told me this was the very best, and if I wanted it at £36 a month, I would have to pay £150 for the phone.
I told her it was far too expensive, so she offered me my PAC code. How disgraceful is that? She didn't even try to keep me sweet. I've been with Orange for like 10 years now, always pay my bills on time and this is what I get in return? Hell no!0 -
Orange retentions have repeatedly offered a substantially worse (£8 more per month) offer than Phones4u's offer for new customers on Orange. I think next time I won't bother even talking to them. Times have changed.0
