No. Orange won't offer anything than their standard advertised deals on iphone 5s. This is mainly becasue the prices are set by Apple, but also because they don't need to, demand is already outstripping supply.

18 months ago I got the following deal:
600 mins, 1GB data, unlimited texts, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - ~£29 a month

(forget exact amount since Orange hiked their prices mid contract)

Contract finished at the start of Nov so called up on Saturday, a little late I know. Explained that I wanted to bring my bill down to nearer £15 a month and the best that the lovely geordie girl would offer me was:

    50 mins, 250MB, unlimited texts, Samsung Galaxy Ace2 - £15 a month.

    (avg usage over last 3 months = ~150mins, ~50 txts, ~900Mb)

Asked for my PAC code, got it on the call. Will update if retentions call back but I'm not optimistic, as over the last 18 months I've barely been more than £2 each month above my monthly base contract cost.

If I don't get the call then it will "Bye bye Orange, hello Giff Gaff"

[Posted 1 October 2012 but have since looked at SIM-only deals] My wife has been on Orange for about 20 years and probably pays around £50 a month. She is just out of contract, so I plan to try and get a deal out of Orange, but unfortunately she wants an iphone 5, so I assume deals will be more or less non-existent.

    Some things she must have:
    >1000 mins
    >500 texts
    >500 MB data

    Some things she might like:
    inclusive 0845/0870
    Free itemised billing
    Wifi
    More data
    Free tethering
Well, Orange offered her diddly squat. Asked for the PAC, retentions just parroted the website deals, e.g. Panther at 600 mins and 500MB data for £15.50 but voicemail is chargeable at 35p/min even on iphone deals (and my wife hates Hullomail for some reason).

I mentioned the Virgin deal, 30-day contract for £12, 1200 mins, 1GB data inc. tethering and voicemail, but they weren't remotely interested in getting anywhere near that.

Some weeks since the PAC request (lost track of time a bit), there is still not a peep from Orange. Very strange attitude. I'm begging my wife to port over to another network (or virtually the same network with Virgin), but she can't really be bothered.
  • I can't believe the amount that everyone seems to be paying on Mobile phone contracts. Unless you want to use mobile web excessively and access sport live, try the Tesco mobile phones page. Even the Galaxy Samsung contracts seem pretty cheap there. I only have a HTC wildfire which does all I need it to do for £7.50 a month, 5000 texts (which I will prob never use each month) 250 talk time and 500mb web. Am I missing something??

    Yes - a trendy phone

Why are you begging the wife to switch networks?
  • hmmm good deal or not?
Currently on an 18m contract which expires 6/1/13, so eligible to upgrade today. I'm on Dolphin 30 blackberry tariff, with a £15 loyalty discount. The minutes and texts are sufficient, I'd just like 1gb of data going forward as I think I'll use it more on a new phone (bored of BB so don't use it much).

I really want the Galaxy S3 and have just been offered this, on my current tariff (£16.38 a month) on a new 18m contract, but the handset will cost me £200.... so overall it would be £493 = £27.28 pm

Am I likely to find a better 18m deal than this??
  • Ok, so I'm way too impatient! Phoned them back, managed to get extra 500mb data (total 1gb), 300mins, unlim texts, kept my loyalty discount...
And it's the Samsung Galaxy SIII Titanium Grey 4G version!!
All for £16.28 a month for 18 months.

So now I just need to sell my Blackberry (Bold 9900), which apparently CEX will buy for max £174 in mint condition and that would mean best case scenario, total contract price is £319 = £17.72pm.

Can't wait till it is delivered on Monday now!!!
