    Currently:
    1200 minutes
    unlimited texts
    1GB data
    £19/month, 30 day term.
If this deal's got enough minutes and data, you can get the same from Virgin Mobile for £12 a month with a 1 month term.
    Offered:
    Unlimited (3000) minutes
    Unlimited texts
    Unlimited (3GB) data
    BTOpenzone/BTWifi access
    £17/month, 12 month term
This is a good offer if you need 3000 minutes and 3GB data. Otherwise, the Virgin deal makes more sense.

I'm coming to the end of my current 18mth contract with orange. Prior to this term I had another 18month contract with them so I will have been with them for a total of three years.

My contract ends on 3rd October. My question is, at what stage do I start the process of negotiation a new contract/ask to leave? Do I do it just outside of the 30 day cancellation period (i.e. today) or just inside the 30 day period?

If I can get the right deal I'll stay, if not I'm quite happy to leave. I currently pay around £12.50/mo for 200mins, 500mb, unlimited texts. I'm interested in the Galaxy S2, Moto Razr Maxx or the Samsung Note.

You need to get your PAC on the September 3rd, 30 days before the end of the minimum term.

Assuming 200 minutes and 500MB is enough for you, the Galaxy S2 can be had for £21.50 per month over 24 months on O2 with £40 auto cashback which is £19.83 per month including cashback.

Razr Maxx with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB on T-Mobile is £18.90 per month over 24 months and the Galaxy Note is £22.88 on the same contract as the Razr.

All of those can be had for less if you can be bothered with having to send your bills in for the cashback.

Thanks for taking the time to look up those deals buscape. I'll give orange a call on September 3rd and get the wheels in motion.

I rang up a few days ago to see how much an S3 upgrade would be. Got told £46 a month on 18 month contract.

Thought I would try and request my PAC today, see if they give me a better offer. Nope! They kept me waiting an age to give me it, then passed it over to someone else. I thought job done, I'm gonna get an offer here. Instead she just gave me the PAC.

Wait for them to call you back, you should get a better offer from them. In the meantime have look at what you can get a S3 for from another network on moneysupermarket, o mio and uswitch, this will help when you're negotiating with Orange.

That happened to me too, but the following day I got a call to see why I was leaving, and to offer me a better deal... not a good enough deal for me though, so still thinking of leaving.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

I think I'm leaning to buying it from Smartfonestore and using GiffGaff or something similar.

Having thought about it, i opted for the Orange deal. At £15.60/month i got a LOT more for £3.60 more, compared to Virgin's at £12/month.
