Orange Retention Offers

I know that, can pick up both T'Mobile and Orange which is good as i get a great signal with orange
Just dont know why Orange are offering rubbish deals for people to stay with them.
I spoke to Orange last night to replace my HTC Desire with the HTC ONE S.
Their first offer was £31 pcm for 200mins and 250MB data. Way more than I wanted to pay so I kept saying "no" because I had seen a T-Mobile deal on mobiles.co.uk that was ~£15pcm effective rate.
I ended up speaking to retentions who offered me 400mins and 1GB data for only £16pcm. I agreed and my phone is due to arrive tomorrow. Happy days (especially with today's 4G announcement).
For me this is a good deal, others may disagree. My point in posting is to let you all know that this is available.0 -
Has anyone had any luck getting a good deal with a Nokia Lumia 800 ?
Been offered one free on a 24 month contract, with 800 minutes, Unlimited texts, and 500MB internet for around £20.00.
Is this a good deal, or do you think they should be able to offer a better deal ?0 -
Im due an upgrade, have been for a couple of months now, but havent gotten round to doing it.
Ive researched various tariffs on all networks, and have found a couple of decent options to fall back on, if Orange dont give me what I want.
What is the way to go about it then?
Do I phone their sales team and ask "Whats the best deal you can do for me on this phone" ? Then when they offer me something poorer than ive already found elsewhere, do I ask to go through to retentions? Or do I ask for my PAC code?0 -
Ring Orange up, go through the 'thinking of leaving Orange' option, see what they offer, if that's not good enough, request your PAC.
Wait for retentions to call you, tell them what you want or what you can get from another network, if they can't give you what you want or beat what another network will offer, leave them.0 -
And if I do leave, how quickly do they cut you off/how long does it take to transfer my number over? As I wouldnt like to be without a phone whilst im waiting on my new one to be delivered?0
-
The PAC lasts for 30 days, you're best giving to your new network on day 27 or 28.
It usually takes 1 working day to transfer over, and the Orange contract will be cancelled once the number is ported.0 -

Do you need to have 800 minutes?
No, not at all - they were offering 400, but managed to double it to 800 - They wouldn't come down in price though.
Any ideas ?0 -
How many minutes and how much data have you used over the last 12 months?
If you can manage with less minutes or data, you can have the phone for less. Do you do much streaming on your phone?0
