Orange Retention Offers

Wait for retentions to call you, there's a chance they will offer you what you want.
How many minutes and how much data are you after?0 -
Well, I normally use less than 200 minutes, but did once and got stung big time, so I'd like 300-400 to be safe. Texts - probaly well less than 50 a month.
Data with tethering is the biggy for me. I used to have a Three MiFi, but cancelled that (500mb for £5.29), so want tethering to replace that. I moved to a new flat recently and can't get broadband until at least the end of September, so want it for home use too.
T-Mobile have stopped tethering on their full monty for new customers. Giff Gaff don't include tethering. Looks like only Three, but that's £25 a month for sim-only.
PdaNet on Android looks to be able to cheat on tethering but I don't know how well and whether a service provider would question sudden large downloads.
Maybe I'll wait, as you suggest, for Orange to maybe call me back?Wait for retentions to call you, there's a chance they will offer you what you want.

No other network offers unlimited everything on a 1 month sim only and even 12 month contracts with unlimited everything cost more than the £17 they're offering.
If you want unlimited data on 1 month sim only, Three are your only realistic alternative although you will need their one plan (2000 minutes, 5000 Three to Three minutes and unlimited data with tethering included) at £25 to cover the amount of minutes you need, even their 600 minute 1 month contract is more expensive than what Orange are offering.

Your options seem to be limited to taking the 12 month contract with Orange (cheap, but with a loss of flexibility) or move to Three (more expensive but you have the freedom to leave at any time).
You have to decide whether flexibility is more important to you than price.
I came to the same conclusion.
I've been with orange for a year anyway on a 30 day plan, and i'm only tied in with the sim and not the handset, so i'm leaning towards going with orange.0 -

Work out what you need and take it from there. You're on a 30 day plan, so you have the power so to speak.0 -
Unless Orange are offering unlimited data for £17 (and you need unlimited data), there are better options out there.

I'm trying to think beyond 12 months in this case. I have a 40% discount on Orange, which i lose if i go elsewhere. Plus after month 12 i will still have the discount and then retain flexibility to go elsewhere with all of the perks Orange is throwing in.
Orange said its 3GB data (and not unlimited), but its still quite high even for me. I have unlimited home broadband and via wifi at work, so it balances out.
They are also throwing in unlimited BTOpenzone/BTWifi access. I already have Cloud and O2 Wifi access on top, so i'm leaning towards Orange purely for the options on top of the "minor" sacrifice.0 -

Out of interest, how many minutes do you get and how much do you pay each month?0 -
I see where you're coming from, 40% is a big discount and the free wifi access is pretty appealing as well.
Out of interest, how many minutes do you get and how much do you pay each month?
