Orange Retention Offers

I too am nearing the end of my contract(sept 26th) and am close to seeing what Orange will be offering me. I already have a desire so am not wanting a new phone and as a result will be looking for a big price reduction. If I don't get a deal of about 500mins and 500GB data + unlimited texts for well under a tenner a month then I'm off!
Plus will be emailing Orange to let them know why I left after I transfer my number over to a new network. If more people dropped them a line after switching away maybe they would be more responsive to offering better deals.
Anyway I am hoping that I do not need to do so.0 -
Coming to the end of my 300 mins Unlimited txt and 500mb deal @ £25pm on Htc Desire.
Phoned up asking for Galaxy s3, got quoted £36pm and £99 for phone lol, so i asked for my pac code, got put through to diffrent guy who offered me.
Samsung galaxy s3

Samsung galaxy s3 (Free)
300 mins
Unlimited txt and internet.
£26pm
Bye bye orange.
T-Mobile and Orange are the same people.0 -
OH phoned up for her 3rd PAC which will be used this time to get an S3 elsewhere and was told that they could do an S3 for £41/month without even going into the minutes etc she would want/need - might as well have told her to leave as thats the worst deal I've seen .
Off to T-mobile via mobiles.co.uk shortly0 -
Today was my first day I could upgrade from my 18 month contract of a BlackBerry 9780 with Orange - average spend £35 a month and previous to that, I'd be on PayG for around 5 years.
Phoned up asking to upgrade to Samsung Galaxy S3, best offers were around £37 for 24 months, with 3GB data, unlimited texts and calls and phone for free.
Negotiated with a few advisers for around an hour as I wanted less minutes, free phone and cheap price.
Eventually went through to disconnections, being offered:
- Samsung Galaxy S3 - £50
- 750 anytime minutes
- Unlimited minutes to Orange and T-Mobile customers
- Unlimited texts
- 1,750MB of data
- 1 free swappable
I ended up taking up the offer as it's around £10 less than I'm paying currently, I can sell my BlackBerry for £50+ to recoup the upfront free and the data is more than I currently use too - obviously 24 months but for £26 a month I found it too good to refuse

I've paid stupid money for next to nothing - 300 mins & 100 texts for £34 month, originally at 12 months with a TyTNII (that I don't use, preferring my old SE P910!). I prevaricated for 5 YEARS which meant that I've overpaid by enough to buy a car probably. That tiny allowance meant I always went over and I never paid less than £45-50, often £60-70 and occasionally £70 plus. I went in determined to get my contract down - but ended up agreeing to the following.
S3 £29.99 upfront
800 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
1.25Gb Data
3Gb BT Openzone (I think it was the "unlimited" deal - it was just explained that the fair-use policy kicks in at 3Gb)
2 Free swappables
2Gb dongle on 18-month contract for £2.50 pcm - reduced from £10 pcm
Contract price £26+£2.50 for 2GB dongle = £28.50
Obviously the 18 month dongle contract ends 6 months before the 24 month phone contract. After 18 months I can return the dongle and the £7.50 discount for the dongle part of the deal will be applied to my phone contract. This would result in a fee of £21 pcm for the final 6 months of my contract.
The operator was adamant that this was the best deal - I was on the phone for an hour or so. He claimed that Orange had tightened up their policy on retentions on the 2nd August.
My contract prce hasn't come down by much, but with all the resources I have I would hope I won't go far over my headline price. For example going 100 minutes and 200 texts over last month (i.e a total of £400 mins + 300 texts) cost me nearly £80! Given that I travel a LOT and I assume mobile internet would be very useful (I've just done without up to now) I took it, but have 14 days to refuse. What do you think?0 -
My mum is currently due an upgrade and is on an old plan using an HTC 7 Mozart.
Racoon 25 (18 month) £22.37 with loyalty discount
she gets 200 anytime minutes, 300 texts, 300 landline minutes, 500 MB internet and free home broadband.
Have not phoned yet but have checked to see what is available to upgrade online.
She could keep the same plan and get a free Galaxy S2, however she thinks she would like an iphone. She would have to change plan to get an iphone and the offer is - free phone with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB internet for £29.99/month.
She wants to keep the free home broadband as it is sufficient for her needs.
Any advice would be appreciated .
If she changed to a new plan would she loose the free broadband?
Are any of the above deals good?
Would she get a better deal phoning?0 -
Has anyone had any luck getting a good deal with a Nokia Lumia 800 ?
Been offered one free on a 24 month contract, with 800 minutes, Unlimited texts, and 500MB internet for around £20.00.
Is this a good deal, or do you think they should be able to offer a better deal ?0 -
