The saga continues see http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-with-Windows-Phone/How-to-sync-a-Lumia-Windows-Phone-with-Outlook/td-p/1393393
Strangely it is not possible to sync an ordinary Outlook Account with the new Nokia. You have to put all your contacts on Windows Live Mail or Gmail and then sync with your phone, ok for some but I dont want to put sensitive data on anybody's cloud. Mad when you think this is a Windows phone and Nokia are working with MS.
Similar problem with the iphone.
So its back to Blackberry which appears to be the only way of cloudless syncing unless there is an Android which does this.
For those of us who only care about contacts and email rather than facebook and content, I hope that RIM survives, it reminds me of the solid and reliable person that everyone takes for granted - until s/he is gone. (as opposed to flashy newcomers).0 -

Update........ I have now received an official letter with my PAC number on and had a call from Orange trying to keep me as a customer. The deals that they were offering we're rubbish to be honest. I told them about the above deal from phones4u, which is still on the Orange network and they said that they could not match it. The best they could do was an iPhone 4s 300mins, unlimited, 1Gb for £36 a month reduced to £31 if I took their broadband. Their broadband was a pathetic 3Mb. I could also pay this amount for a Samsung Galaxy S3, with 400mins, unlimited, 750Mb.
Looks like I might be staying with Orange but via phones4u.0 -
definnitely give them a ring it was actually on their sister site dialaphone but theyre the same company so just mention that if they cant find itWhat goes around-comes around0

Moved over to a Sim-Only Deal for £20 quid, since my contract is up. The Agent told me, its a 30 days roling contract and I can jump onto the new Iphone tariff once its out :j
Kept my Data Allowance, mins, text and tethering....0 -
I rang Orange to genuinely terminate my contract after having been with them for years. I wanted the Samsung Galaxy Note, and you can really only appreciate it with a good data plan. I don't use my voice call minutes much as I'm not the phone chatter I used to be years ago. These days, I have hundreds (!!!) of minutes left each month. Three was my network of choice because of all-you-can-eat data plan. I was really willing to leave Orange, but they insisted I stay. Seriously, I really tried to leave!
They actually said one thing I never expected a company to say: they'd give me whatever I want. So I told them what I wanted, and they made me the offer below.
- FREE Samsung Galaxy Note
- 400 minutes
- unlimited texts
- unlimited data
AND
- FREE dongle with 450mb per month
Total cost: £20.50 per month on a 24 month contract.
It was such a great deal, I said yes.
Edited to add: I have more than just my phone with Orange. So they get a good £1,000 or so from me per annum.0 -
I'm coming to the end of a 2 year contract and did a bit of browsing around before calling to get some decent comparison deals to go to retentions with. Went in fully expecting to get my PAC and walk away to T-Mobile for the S3 or HTC One X at £26 a month/100 mins/ultd texts/1.5gb data - I'm on Panther 35 with a £5 discount so paying around £31 a month for a Galaxy S with 600 mins/750mb data/ultd texts and have only gone over the minimum once, last month, when I went abroad and spent around a fiver extra.
Was very surprised then when the nice chap in retentions seemed keen to keep me. Started off offering my current contract as above for £37/month with free One X but I said I wanted to save on my monthly bills if possible. Then he suggested switching to their home broadband too in which case he could make it:
- free One X
- 600 mins
- ultd texts
- 750mb data
- £28.50/month
- Home broadband at £23.50/month inc line rental, ultd download limit & free evening/weekend calls, including £50 to buy me out of my current BT contract (which has 6 months left)
It seems good - really good. My question is - is Orange home broadband any good? I've got 6 months left with BT and have been quoted £59 early termination fee - I'm looking around as we're currently paying £31/month for a paltry 10gb which we regularly go over. And is that early termination fee it, or will BT charge me the normal monthly cost x 6 as well?
If I do go with the above that'd be a saving of £3.50/month on my current contract (£84 saving across 2 years), keep all my magic numbers, plus save £7.50/month on broadband (£90 saving over a year) while upgrading to a brand new phone & much bigger home broadband allowance! Is it too good to be true?!LBM: 11/9/12 Starting debt: £7470Credit card: [STRIKE]£2920[/STRIKE] £3148
