I'm going to give them a phone shortly although I'm not sure they will speak to me as its in my OHs name. Got to be worth a shot.

I just rang up and asked for my PAC code (contract ends on August 9th). The man gave me my PAC code and said goodbye. No offer was made. What's that all about?

Did you ask about any offers or just request the PAC? If you just asked for your PAC then you cant complain if they gave it to you!

You will probably get a call from retentions in a few days.

No I purely asked for the PAC as in the past asking for that triggers the offers. I'm expecting them to call me back but I'm gutted cause I wanted to order my new phone and get it tomorrow for the weekend. I don't want to weaken my position by calling back now. Grrrrrrrrr!

Phone back and say that you have been told that sometimes people are offered deals when they are thinking of leaving and ask whether they do anything like that. Act as if you dont know any better and see how it goes. you're probably too late to get it for tomorrow though.

I see that e2save are offering an Xperia, 250 mins and 500mB data for £7.50 per month. Even though it is s 24 month contract, at that price with a phone - it is a steal! If Orange don't match that(and none of the deals posted here so far do) I'm off.

Yeah note that E2save have been out of stock of the Xperia U for well over a week and are still happily taking orders! I have ordered one for a family member as its amazing value but starting to wonder if it will ever materialise.

Asked for PAC code. Put through to Retentions. 25 minutes later got:

    Free Galaxy S3 (unbranded)
    18 month contract
    600 minutes
    1.25 gb data
    Unlimited texts
    BT Openzone wi-fi unlimited
    £26 a month

I travel abroad a lot and my bill has been as high as £600 (whilst stuck in Mallorca due to the so-called "ash cloud"), but I guess it averages about £70 a month.

Should I ask for my PAC code and try and get put through to retentions. Maybe ill get a better deal?

Retentions definitely have more discretion to keep you than customer service!

Just been back in touch with Orange, the girl in customer services spoke to retentions after I outlined two deals that I had found on mobile.co.uk, she came back and said that neither she nor retentions could match the deals. She did say that if I hung fire using my PAC code Orange would be in touch in the next few days as part of their, "refuse to lose" policy with regards to loyal customers. So I'll see what happens next.

I'd be happy With the same deal as Bollinge got on the S3 though.
