Unless your monthly bills are similar to Bollinge then I wouldn't get too excited - if you dont go over your contract price too much, maybe something similar on a 24 month deal if you are lucky

Following to replace my very old bberry not in contract, based on Racoon (unlimited STD calls, 300 minutes plus 100 texts) plus bb package:

    1. BB Bold, £50 contribution, £15 per month 18 month contract (total cost = £337.64
    2. Iphone 4S £50 contribution £28 per month 18 month contract (total cost = £568.5)
    3.Samsung Note £199 contribution £20.98 per month 18 month contract (total cost = £576.64)

Current contract = £18 per month incl blackberry package.

Really undecided I love my BB because it is secure (important for work) and the push email and the way it syncs with Outlook. On the other hand I am worried about loss of support. I played with a Note the other day and was impressed. I quite like the Iphone but do have worries about syncing.

Orange person really helpful and polite.

    Any thoughts anyone?

Iphone is over rated, have a look at the Nokia Lumia range, it has push email
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

To be honest, I am still puzzling out how to move my contacts from my blackberry. At the moment they are backed up and regularly synced with Outlook 2003, with the BB Manager this is very simple.

I can work out from online advice how to copy but all the syncing advice is about going via Gmail, a bit like going to Builth Wells via Bulgaria.

I also have no wish to put my contacts in a cloud.

Decision tipping in the direction of the BB.

I have investigated the Nokia but similar syncing problems.

Don't the Lumia phones have a bluetooth contact transfer app built in?

Dont know will check out but I did read in the reviews of this phone about problems syncing with Outlook unless you are on Outlook Exchange.

    Finally upgraded my contract.

    Free Samsung S3
    900min, 1gb data, unlimited text
    £33.50 a month
    24 month contract
£170 cashback (cheque after 6 wks) so equivalent of just over £26 a month

This was through Phones4u upgrade not Orange directly, as Orange didn't offer anything decent.

I know this is an Orange thread, but is worth comparing rather than just waiting on Orange to offer (or not offer) something.
  • Quick 5 min chat to orange upgrades dept. not retentions, got me an offer of staying on my legacy dolphin 25 for another 24 months (300 mins, ult txts, 500mb data £25pm) and paying £60 one off for an s3. My contract is now rolling on as it passed the 24 month point in May

That was with no effort but to be fair, the monthly bill varies from £35-£55 each month.

Haven't taken it up yet and will see what retentions can offer later.
