    Guys,

question: I am in the last 4 weeks of my contract, though I want to hold out for the new Iphone. I currently have the Iphone4 which should be more than OK until .... whenever the Iphone5 is coming out. (I do not want any other phone as my home set up is all apple.)

What happens to my contract? Will this be rolling on a monthly basis?

I would like to keep my mobile number...

    Any advise would be appriciated.

    Markus

you go onto a rolling contract but at the original terms so any extras i.e. picture messages or discounts will generally be removed. The best thing to do is to move to sim only somewhere else by porting your number and then you can rejoin as a new customer and take advantage of any cashback thats available.

Of course the easy thing to do is just stay with Orange until the new phone is available.
  • Well I just called Orange to see what they could offer me and I got the following:-

    Blue Galaxy S3 free
    £36 a month for 18mths
    400minutes
    1gb internet
    unlimited txts
    keep all my magic numbers
    2 free swapables

So I took up the offer.

    Greetings fellows

Its coming up to that time when again! Apparently my contract ends on August 20th, is it anytime in the last 30 days that I can request my PAC code?

    Cheers.

You can request the PAC at any time to avoid paying extra money to Orange you should request it 30 days before the end of the contract. Dont wait until the last couple of days before using it - leave 5 or so to ensure you port out in time.

Called up Orange and got a PAC code. I received a letter from retentions asking me to call them. So I did.

After speaking to retentions for 20 minutes and going through numerous options they finally offered this tariff:

SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 16GB (PEBBLE BLUE)

    1200 MIN
    UNLIMITED LAND-LINE
    300 TEXT
UNLIMITED DATA (Not 2GB capped). I really pushed them for this!!! :-))
    24 MONTH CONTRACT

    £29.28 Per Month x £24 = £819.89

I also asked them if I paid something towards the handset upfront would my tariff be reduced in price? They said yes and finally came with a figure of £90.00 for the handset and reducing my tariff to:

    £21.78 Per Month x 24 = £522.72 + handset cost £90.00 = £612.72

    so, £819.89 - £612.72 = £207.17

By paying £90.00 upfront for the handset I saved over the next 24 months, £207.17 or £8.63 per month. If you can afford to pay towards the cost of the handset, you can potentially save more money over the contract length as shown above.

You can also pay an extra £20.00 for an unlocked, no bloatware Samsung Galaxy S3.

I've been with orange for over 10 years now and this time around the retentions team are not as easy to negotiate a good tariff. My average spend is £35.00 per month.
Thanks to the detail you've shared above I have just finally managed to negotiate the following:
    Samsung S3
    400 mins calls
    unlimited texts
    750 Mb data
    £50 towards handset
All for £25 per month on a 24 month contract.
If my figures are right that means a total cost of £650.
    He wouldn't shift more.

I believe they look at the last few months when offereing you a deal so if you have had a couple of expensive months it will increase your chances of getting a decent deal.
