Orange Retention Offers

I've been with orange for over 10 years now and this time around the retentions team are not as easy to negotiate a good tariff. What do you think?
As detailed in a previous post, I got absolutely nowhere with them having had great deals in the past so am leaving after 10 years to build up loyalty elsewhere.0 -

I think it's due to the THREE Network as I wanted a tariff similar to, which offered Unlimited data too on a lot of their tariffs. I'm not sure if tethering is include as I didn't ask, I will do when retentions call back again on Friday to see if I want to accept the offer.
I called up 150 and went to upgrades and asked for the retentions department.
BTW, the Samsung Galaxy S3 (Pebble Blue) is on pre-order again as Orange has sold their allocated stock. It won't be available again until end of June.0 -
So I made my order on Tuesday for delivery yesterday and now Orange have said that there is no stock of the White Galaxy S3 - with no estimate on when stock might come back in.
Wasted a day off work waiting for the Handset to arrive. No apology from Orange at all. Terrible service.0 -
Having looked around I didn't see too many people quoting SIM-only retention deals. I prefer to use an unlocked handset (e.g. for traveling) so have been on a SIM-only deal for a while now. Previously I had this deal:
Racoon 15
£5 loyalty discount for eighteen months
100 extra texts for eighteen months
300 mins + unlimited landlines
500MB data
£10/month, 1 month rolling contract
Since my loyalty deals ended, today I was able to get this:
Panther 15.50
£5 discount for life (current standard offer)
600 mins (incl 300 loyalty for 12 months)
Unlimited texts
750MB data including tethering (incl 250MB for 12 months)
£10.50/month, 12 month contract0 -
Business tarriff - £240 package over 24 months and £59 off the phone (free 64gb iPhone 4S) x2. Total saving = £598 (We pay them about £180/month on business tarriffs).

I dont think its down to how long you have been with ANY mobile phone company. Its rather down to how much you spend outside your monthly package... Thats how they determine your grade.
So it could be a customer like you 10 years on a £25 contract wioth hardly and extra's is in a different/worse situation to get a decent deal than a customer just finished his first 2 y contract on £15 pounds but spend £10 on top each months any something which is not covered by the contract.0 -
Called Orange upgrades/retentions and they were useless.
23 months back I was able to get the Samsung Galaxy S2 (no charge), 2200X-Min, Unltd txt and Unltd Data for £35 a month.
Now if I want to stay on the same tariff with only 1200 x-min, I have to pay £50 for the handset!
Three are offering -
All-you-can-eat data
2,000 minutes
5,000 Three-to-Three minutes.
5,000 texts
£34 a month for new customers
I may have to leave Orange if they do not provide me with a better deal.
I will call again in the evening to see if another agent who know's there stuff and knows about valuing their customer's will be able to provide something better!London, UK0 -

Last time I tried I was offered sim only for just over £12/month but ended up with a free LG P500 and everything else the same as for teh sim only for £7.52 a month. Couldn't see the logic in that at all - but had to accept it
OH finally get her letter through regarding her PAC so is going to phone them up again tomorrow and try and get a decent deal. If she fails then its off to somewhere else.0 -
Hi. Just been through orange retentions and did not find them too bad at all. I did ring up 4 seperate times and each time I got a little more off or more added to the package but in the end I got:
Free Samsung S2 (I know its an older model, but I liked this one)
400mins
Unlimited texts
750MB date
30 free pics messgaes
Keep the 14 orange magic numbers I have and usual BT openzone
+SKY SPORTS MOBILE
All for £20 per month.
There must be better deals but I am quite happy with this. Its halved my bill that I had with my iphone. Of which im fed up of paying a premium just to have an iphone!!!I AM DEBT FREE 18/6/12SAVINGS = £101000 -
Thats not bad at all - Orange usually dont make decent offers for sim-only at upgrade time in my experience.

The one time the winback team called me, they offered an odd combination of 500mins, unltd texts and 1GB data for £10.50 which maybe I should have taken but I felt that they could do better given no handset. I did call retentions back to get it but they said I should been more enthusiastic about it and it might have then been noted on my file.
I will be pulling the trigger on the Vodafone £20.50 deal (900 mins, 1GB, unltd texts and free voda calls) this weekend. With topcashback, it will be just over a tenner and I will also try to get my employers discount of 20% once the line is up and running. From speaking to a few people it's unlikely to work, but it's only an email to give it a go.0
