Orange Retention Offers

OH eventually got his PAC code yesterday. He never got it within the two hours of requesting it and had to ring them and ask for it over the phone.
They've called him today and offered him the following...
'Free' Samsung Galaxy SII
750 minutes
Unlimited texts
750mb data
Some Sky on the go thing I don't understand?:o
£26 a month on a 24 month contract.
He doesn't even use 100 minutes a month but it seems to be the best Orange are offering. He's going to wait for the SIII to come out, but at the minute Tesco and O2 are looking best.
They called me yesterday after requesting my PAC on Monday but I missed the call. Automated message when I try ringing them back.0 -
OH also missed a call yesterday from a number which we suspect is retentions - waiting for them to phone back. Will be interesting to see what happens later in the month as all networks gear up for the S3.0

The number that called both myself and my OH ends 0194 if that's any help.
My OH did say to them that he was thinking of waiting for the S3 to come out because prices would drop, but the woman at Orange was insistant that this wouldn't be the case. But then she would say that wouldn't she.0 -

I'd be very surprised if its not the case - all of a sudden the S2 will be significantly less desirable. That said maybe Orange dont have many to get rid of and hence wont be doing great deals unless you were the kind of spender that would have got one anyway.0 -
OH missed another call the other day although she's not sure who it was from. Anyone got any idea how often retentions will try and call? Or will they just keep trying until they get hold of the customer?
I'd to get something sorted out sooner rather than later
Thanks!0 -
They haven't tried to call me anymore since last week.
They offered my OH a package and said they would call him back the next day, but never did.
I really think Orange customer service has gone downhill and it's made me think twice about staying with them at all.
My Dad was due an upgrade at the same time as us. He went from contract to sim only. Think they told him the sim would be £10.50 a month, now he's queried his bill and they're saying it's £15 a month.
The other issue is a bit more complicated. He got a Samsung Galaxy S with his last contract. He had no data on his package (very light phone user, but very into the latest gadgets!) and it the first month unknowingly rang up quite a large bill from data. He rang Orange and they turned data off at their end, meaning my Dad could not use data full stop.
This was all fine til he changed to sim only, and data seems to have been running unknowingly. Orange said they would remove these charges, they could see he didn't have access to data blah blah blah, they would call him back. Nobody has called three times now so he's requested his pac code.
Bit of a rant there, but they aren't as good as they used to be IMO.
Also, one of the reasons personally I liked Orange was their English call centres. Now, I can't even remember the last time I talked to an English person when I called them.

I know what you mean regarding their CS - will get OH to try phoning again and maybe get her to authorise me to speak to them as I'd happily bug the hell out of them until I get a deal that suits us0

Have you had a letter from them? I got a letter last week asking me to ring them and give them one last chance. As it was just the normal 150 no. it told me to ring I didn't bother.0

I dont think so - any idea how long after requesting your PAC that the letter arrived?0
