Orange Retention Offers

Anyone had a decent retentions offer on the HTC One X?
Called at the weekend and got a decent offer for a One X contract but still not as good as other places, so called today to cancel and was offered 300 mins, unlimited texts, 1.75GB with free phone for £21pm (24 months). I've had my ups and downs with Orange but they always come good at upgrade time.:dance:0 -
I've always had a good offer which is why I stay but I'd rather just get a good offer without having to jump through the hoops and make multiple calls.0

Well my partner and I just called again. I think I have rang about 5 times now. Both been with them 5 yrs+
OH wants the S II. The best he was offered was £28 a month, £109.99 for the phone. 400 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb data on an 18 month contract. He requested his PAC code and they're texting him it within 2 hours apparently.
I want the HTC One S. The best they have offered me is £31 a month on an 18 month contract, 400 mins unlimited texts 500 mb data. I requested my PAC code and they gave it to me over the phone, didn't seem that bothered about trying to keep my custom.
I'm sick of having to play the stupid games with Orange. I wish they would just offer the best prices without having to ring up loads of times, request a PAC code etc.0 -
To be fair - 18 month contracts are pretty rare these days and generally have up front costs no matter who you go with.
To get a current a phone you'll almost certainly have to go for a 24 month contract.0 -

They didn't want to budge on the 24 month contracts either! Phones 4 U have offered us both much better deals. I prefer to deal with Orange direct but it seems it doesn't pay to!0 -

Taking into account my (presumably) higher monthly spend, it makes sense why we got such different offers.
Your OH's total equates to £613.99 over the life of the contract but mine only equated to £270.
The difference there is £343.99 or £19.11 per month over the life of the contract.
Orange are banking on me spending greater than an average of £19.11 per month over my line rental during my contract, which has certainly been the case for me over the last 6 months.
This is of course assuming your OH didn't have a large monthly spend in the last 6 months!0 -
Yes, you're right. My OH pays around £35 a month and was aiming to get down to around £25. I dont know how the price bands work but I am paying around £10 a month less than him, and they are still trying to offer us both the exact same rubbish deals (e.g the wildfire s).
I'm going to give Phones 4 U another try at the weekend and see what I can get them down to.0 -

I've used Phones 4 U a few times. In fact the only thing that stopped me upgrading with them last time was that they couldn't get the Desire on Orange for some reason.
I've had some very good deals with them in the past, and they have already offered me the One S for £28.50 on an 18 month contract. They do seem a lot more interested in my custom, and its them that have been calling me, rather than the other way round.
Has anyone managed to get any good deals on the insurance with Orange? I'm put off 24 month contracts because my phones always seem to die after the 18 month mark. If I could get cheap insurance it might be worth while looking into a longer contract. It would have to be very cheap though as apparently there is only supposed to be £5 a month difference between a 18 anf 24 month contract.0 -
Thanks for that - I'll maybe see about asking OH to phone Phones4U but she's not that interested playing games, she just wants a good phone on a cheap contract
I would check what orange cover in terms of their insurance, I suspect that if it simply stopped working it may not be covered. Could be wrong though0
