Anyone had a decent retentions offer on the HTC One X?
I'm on 600 mins, unlimited landlines, 300 txts and 500MB data on an 18mth deal with a Desire for £20pm.
Contract expired last week so phoned yesterday. Initial offer for an HTC One X involved £200 up front!!!!
Got put through to retentions and eventually offered 900 mins, unlimited txts and data for £36pm with a free One X - don't need that much and asked to get it reduced to say £30pm - no dice so got my PAC code and waiting on the S3 now.2025: 3xBluRay, £750, Book
2024: £125, 3xCD, 2xBooks, BluRay, 1 Vinyl, Game,
2023: Garment Bag, Perfume, £100,TortillaChips,Rituals Set, Book, BluRay.
2022: Mobile Phone, Earbuds, Hair stuff, Book, DVD, Stampsx2.
Biggest - £1000 cash, Holiday, KenwoodChef, 2xMobiles, Hotel+Gig, Wii, 2xTVs, £500 voucher, Tree(!), Jewellery0 -
I have been with Orange for 10 years and have always had good retention deals. I am currently on:
18 month contract
Free Nokia E5
200 x-net
200 x-net loyalty
300 texts
unlimited landlines
500mb
£10.50
This is plenty for me but I would quite like to get it down under a tenner for a similar handset and lock it for 24 months. Looking at the deals on this thread, it seems rare to get under a tenner for any kind of deal, except maybe for SIM only.
Does anyone have any recent feedback on what sort of retention deals are going about at the lower end?
Just to update I called retentions about a SIM Only and all they would do is give deals that are on their website and there was no interest in discussing it at all or even acknowledging the existence of Quidco. So I asked for my PAC which was given with no attempt to keep me.
I'm after the 20.50 Panther with included email which is currently £5 off online and then Quidco can get another 6.66 off. I would pay £5.50 for it which isn't even a big drop from the Quidco price. So as usual I will wait for the letter asking me to call and then listen to the guy express surprise that his retention deal was not offered before. To justify paying for this charade, an awful lot of people must just take the first offer.0 -
Last night OH got offered this after requesting her PAC:
Samsung Galaxy Ace
800 mins
unlimited texts
750 Mb data
some picture messages
24 Month contract
£16 a month
Doesn't seem like a bad deal although I guess the Ace is a reasonably low end phone. She was trying to get a deal on the Galaxy S2 but they weren't going below £28 a month despite the fact you can get an S3 for just over £30/month. Seems that until Orange have pricing details for the S3 they are not doing any deals on the S2.

Retentions on Galaxy S2:
400 mins
Unlimited texts
500MB internet
18 month contract
Free phone
£15/month
Works out £270 all inlcusive for the phone and above contract, great deal I think.0 -
Thats a good deal and the sort of thing I want OH to get. Was it offered via inital call or did you request PAC and then get offered this afterwards.
What were you on previously and did you stay within the package?0 -
I phoned and asked for the PAC code first and was directed to the retentions department. I said I wouldn't leave if they could offer me a good deal on the S2. The deal I posted earlier was their first offer, I didn't haggle at all as it seemed really good. Perhaps I should have tried!!
My previous deal was the same contract, but i've not stayed within the package. Average spent probably £50-60 month the last 6 months (lots of roaming charges) which could explain why I got a good deal.0 -

Very true. The system looks at your spend over the last 6 months (amongst other things). The more you spend, the better the offer.
That's why different people can't always get the same deal, everyone's spend is different. . .0
