infiniti,
Despite several phone calls to Orange over the past few days, best I have been able to get them to agree to is same as you i.e. £36pm for Unlimited calls and texts. 500mb data (I assume you mean 500mb and not 500gb ?? !!) and 4S for £99. However, when I mentioned moving to T-Mobile as possible £50 cashback on sites for new contract, they also offered 1 month free i.e. a £36 credit on my account, not much of an improvement, but better than nothing.
Hi Lampieuk
Thanks for the feedback and you are certainly correct regarding the data! The agent I spoke with was supposed to call back and he never did so will have to call back in during the week and see how to take it from there. Although have seen some very good cashback offers through e2save (with whom I am familiar with the cashback terms) offering the £36 pm full monty deal on an effective basis of as little as £20 pm with a basic low end phone however this is still not that great if I ultimately want to buy an iphone.
Will try the cashback route as you have suggested and try and get a month's free line rental too.
Many thanks
Also thanks to niktheguru. for some reason they didn't even offer the 2,200 minutes deal so may try for that alternatively as that with unlimited landlines would fit the bill completely.
Many thanks0 -

I wanted an android phone but they couldn't do decent deals on it, but they said i could have an iphone 4s for £60 and a monthly tariff for £36 with 2200mins, unlimited landlines, data, texts, tethering (plus the standard magic numbers), but i don't know if they were only offereing it for a limited time.
This was thru retentions though. Upgrades don't come close.
Good luck!0 -
can you just upgrade or is the contract near the end of its term? you wont get a good deal 3 months before the end just with an upgradeWhat goes around-comes around0

How did you get through to retentions? I can upgrade from the beginning of March and this deal with the iPhone 4s would be perfect for me.
Retentions is an outbound service only, meaning they have to call you. The way you speak to the retentions department is to go to upgrades via 150 (i don't think there is a disconnection option anymore like there used to be!) Speak to them about what they can offer you. They almost always just offer whats on the website. Then ask for your PAC code (as you want to leave because the deals are not good enough) They will then issue you with a PAC code.
Retentions should then call you within a week to discuss if there is anything they can do to keep your custom. Its best to be armed with some offers from other companies that you'd prefer and they will try their best to help.
Remember the best deals come when you are OUT OF CONTRACT. Don't bother ringing them in the last few months of your contract, they won't come close. Always call as soon as your contract has ended.
With regards to the deal I got, i'm not sure if they are still offering it. When it was offered to me they were only offering it to a "select few customers" (whether thats true or not who knows!) and i had to give them an answer that day.
At worst, you can always just take the full monty deal with t-mobile now, uses the same network anyway!
Hope that helps someone.0 -
