well it was another option for me as my son needs a phone so i thought i can give him my SGS and i can have SG2. Not that i am dying to have shiny new phone but thinking about the needs. well my 15 years old is a very sensible one he simply said mum i am very happy with my 4-5 years old LG Cookie. so now i dont need SS2. orange didn't make much effort to keep me so i might leave them as on Talk mobile sim only deals are very good and i might choose 200mnts...500 txts..500mb...they use Vodafone server/signal....30days rolling for £8/pm + £25
for 30 day £8 SIM only from quidco, So basically if i get the cashback from quidco then nearly for 3 months i am having this deal free of charge. hope my calculation is correct. very disappointed by Orange though. thanx.

    I had a similar experience
I wanted sim only as I had a new HTC sim free
they had the £8 offer for new customers on 12 months sim free(from £15.50)
asked retentions to match it and they couldnt/wouldnt go near it

Has anyone changed from PAYG lately to contract recently through orange retention and got a good deal.i,e does it work?

I am currently on payg and want to change to contract which would be around £26 a month - unlimited texts,200 mins,750mb data - 2 year term.

Well after a second phone call to Orange I have requested my PAC code and sit back and wait for them to (hopefully) phone me back.

Out of curiosity what do others think of the deal i have been offered:

    iphone 4 8GB -£49.99 cost
    150 free minutes
    250 free texts
    unlimited data
    24 month contract
£27-57/month after their loyalty 10% line rental discount after first phone call.

Will I get a better deal than this ( I want the phone for free or cheaper if possible). No point them offering me more minutes or texts as I dont/wont use them.

    Thanks

you should look at other networks see wot they have for the same phone and then tell orange wot you have found see if they match it

I will have a look at other networks in more detail. I have had a quick look.
The forum here was a great find as i didn't realise that you could use the 'request PAC code' as a means of maybe getting a better deal. I always thought once you requested a PAC code that was your contract cancelled. Nice to know it isn't, and I don't have to leave if i don't want to (as i really don't think I want to:-))..

My contract runs out soon with orange and I like orange but I was wondering are there any reliable sites that offer cheaper contracts for orange or are there any tips or offers on that you can give me at the minute for getting orange to keep the amount I spend a month currently the same but upgrade my phone and add data allowance on. I know it is probably unlikely but i thought it is worth a try.
If I make a mistake with something I post I apologize. We are all humans we all make mistakes.

There are many other comparison sites besides mentioned in the article.
Beware of the redemption (cashback) deals that require extra care and research.
