Just wondered what people had got, if anyone had tried, for £10 a month no handset change?Self confessed Florida expert

Well this thread seems to have dies a death?
Anyone had any Orange Retention details recently?
I rung up to look into renewing with them and got the standard deals offered
I'm intrested in the Moterola RAZOR, the HTC Sensation XE/XL or Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Can't get anything decent out of orange at all.
Current plan is
300 minutes,
Unlimited texts
500mb data
£23.18 a month.
Happy with my tarrif, but not happy that I can't get a decent deal with orange. I really would like a phone with a bigger screen, my current HTC wildfire S is a little to small for me0 -
did you go through retnetions or upgrades? What goes around-comes around0
-
just gone through to retentations- bit early, however
Same tarrif- though price is reduced to £17.99, and then one of £149.99 for the Sensation XE
Sound sok to me for a package0 -
Hi
16 months ago i was offered
600mins
+600 loyalty minutes
Unlimted Texts
Unlimted data
A free HTC desire
for £20 a month, this included a £15 loyalty discount.
i called up as contract runs out march 5th and i qualify for early upgrade.
they offered600mins
+400 loyalty minutes
Unlimted Texts
Unlimted data
htc sensation xe for£99
for £22.50
so less minutes and more money. Think i will wait till march and see what they offer then.
Personally iPhone contracts are a joke for the above i would have to pay £46 a month.
Word of advice if you want a iPhone, sell your contract phone, cut sim down and buy a iPhone sim free. insure via house insurance. Saves you a lot of cash in long run.0 -
they dont seem to offer much on an early upgrade ive got mine coming up will let you know what they offerWhat goes around-comes around0

Little back-story first... Sister's account, probably around the 5 year mark now with monthly payments being what you could call... sporadic. Upgrade day came and despite have around 8 or 9 BB 8520s due to near constant issues, she decided she would love the new Bold 9900. Honestly, it's got the build of a classic BB. Clearly built for the top end, but terrible, unpredictable battery life and just got awful reliability on all corners (reception, operating speed and other glitches).
As she hadn't been the only 9900 user having the issues, they reset her upgrade day and told her when she decided what phone she wanted, she could move to that and return the BB9900. I had just gotten the HTC Sensation XL and she was saying that she now wanted the XE. After a day of telling her that with her issues paying her bill, she should probably go with something lower, I talked her down to a Desire S (Remembering Orange used to throw these things at anyone who called up).
On-line the offer was 24M, £36 (free handset), 600mins/Unltd Texts/500MB. On the phone this became £31.
Quickly Omio'd up a 24M, £25 (free handset) 900mins/Unltd Texts/UnltdMB on T-mo. and told the bloke on the phone. He ran off to find a manager whilst I listened to some Adele. He came back with...
24 Month - £28.50/M
Desire S - Free
1200 Minutes
Unimited Texts
1GB Data
She was chuffed that I got her stuff doubled with £8 off (she was just going to do it online). I was chuffed to have her on a <£30/M deal.
Honestly, I think a new customer could get this considering my sisters tendency to not pay her bill (the account's in her friends name since she's blacklisted with all the majors).0 -
Posted this in new threat recently but of course it's never long until the thread Nazis come out of the woodwork so thought would consolidate here and delete the other thread.
How about a thread for the best deals obtained by going through the retentions route?
Have been with Orange for c.2.5 yrs, but was about 2 years out of contract.
Was offered the following:
100 mins (x-network, anytime)
Unlimited texts
500Mb data, increasing to 600Mb from 15 Jan
15 picture messages (thrown in right at the end as a cheeky extra)
All for the princely sum of £5.40 a month incl. VAT, on a 30-day, SIM-only, rolling (i.e. no contract) basis.
Beat that!
Just ordered my Motorola Defy Plus for £199.95 on SimplyElectronics, can't wait to finally go Smart!
(As a responder to the other post had asked for feedback on SimplyElectronics, I'll endeavour to provide an update here in due course)

I'm hoping someone can help me. I haggled a bit for my contract 2 years ago and managed to get an Xperia X10 for free with 600 mins, unlimited texts and 1gb internet for £27 a month
My girlfriend's contract is up for renewal and she pays £35 a month for 400 minutes, 250mb internet and unlimited text on a SE Vivaz, she's hoping to get a Galaxy S2 but wants to pay around the same as me and hopefully get the phone free, she's been with them 2 years and if someone could just run me through the best way to go abouttrying to achieve this deal, that would be great, thanks.0 -

Having called them last week to ask the same question, I was informed the best deal Orange Retentions could offer on the SG S2 was £26/month, 400 mins, unlimited texts, 750Mb data, the phone free, and if you asked nicely, they could give you a maximum £30 credit on your account. This doesn't quite beat the Quidco-Tesco Phoneshop-T-Mobile deal someone has posted on a separate SG S2 thread, which comes in at £25.54 a month, 600 mins, 500 texts, and some nonsense 500Mb data with unlimited web-browsing and email (what is web-browsing if not data?) plus you get a £50 Tesco 'giftcard' which I believe is good for your bog-standard grocery shop, and £35 if you go to Tesco Phoneshop via Quidco.0
